Here's a creepy ad banner that just showed up on our site: From the wording, it seems directed at a kid to purchase for "mom and dad". Why would a kid be involved with "seamless intimacy to bring mom and dad closer"? Is this intended as a Valentine's Day gift for the parents? If so, ick. I'm wondering what you've been searching for that the ad would choose this for you.

Is it an ad for a do-it-yourself human centipede kit? Children nowadays... they're getting scary.

I don't know. Might have been useful when I was a teen:
"Got Mom and Dad all up in your business while you're trying to have your own fun? K Y keeps 'em busy in the bedroom while you dominate the den. Any questions?"

Just 1: where's the add for noise-cancelling headphones?

Things years of rewatching Unsolved Mysteries have taught me:
- Don't ever hitchhike or take hitchhikers.
- Don't drive across America long distances.
- If you do drive long distances don't stop at rest stops. Either get to a hotel or at the very least a gas station/open restaurant to take a breather.
- If your car is on fire outside your house, don't go outside to see what the deal is especially if it's night time. Call the cops.
- Don't go to an ATM in the middle of the night.
- If someone has you at gunpoint in your car, do whatever it takes to not have them take you to another location. You'll most likely get killed. Speed the car up at a high rate if you are forced to drive, barrel roll out the car if you can, crash the car, act crazy, grab a hold of the gun, anything. Odds are once you're taken to another location or even further than that you'll be killed.
- If someone has you at gunpoint headed into the woods, take your chances and make a dash for it. Better than being killed for sure which is what will happen. Especially if you're a guy.

Probably my favorite thing Frank Miller ever wrote - possibly because there's no women in it for him to write horribly:

They figure if you get this for mom and dad, they won't bother you so much while you're living in their basement reading comics.

I've fixed computers for years so I know how many viruses and malware come from the skeevy sites on the internet. So I avoid them like the plague they are. So nothing kinky or slippery. I've really not seen any evidence that any of the ads that show up here are tailored for me in any way. Easily over 90% is not related to me or my computer use in any way. Plus I hardly ever look at CCF at home. I have way too much other stuff that has to be done.

It's actually kind of disturbing. Lee is very old and reportedly not in great health and more than a bit senile. Her sister Alice, who was a lawyer and managed her affairs, died a couple months ago. This smacks of a big publisher taking advantage of an elderly woman.

This smacks of a big publisher taking advantage of an elderly woman. Yes, I read about this. It seems a little to coincidental to me that, not two months after her fiercely protective sister dies, suddenly there's a "new" Harper Lee novel announced -- the first in 50 years! If you want my opinion, I'd say that the smart money is on some unscrupulous publisher bullying and exploiting an old lady for their own financial gain.

Do retailers pay more for variants if the cover price is the same? They only had the action figure variant of Star Wars #2 today and it's cover price was $3.99 but it rang up $5.99. I acted like I didn't know why it was $5.99 and got it for $3.99, but it made me wonder if they had to pay more for it.
