My mother was in the first week of her 9th month with me when she and my dad went to see Elvis Presley in Pittsburgh back in June 1973. She was from Memphis originally and he was her all-time favorite artist (gee, I wonder why), and she was actually worried that the excitement might cause her to go into early labor. Luckily, she made it through the show just fine and actually held onto me for an extra week at the end.

No Stewie updates so I hope that means the little guy is slowly recuperating, getting back his appetite and strength. Maybe some Tom and Jerry cartoons to lift his spirits Sorry, Ish! I stopped the updates because it started to feel morbid and inappropriate. At any rate, Stewie passed on sometime last night after three days in a coma. He put up one hell of a valiant fight but I'm glad it's over, for his sake *and* mine. Cei-U! Au revoit, mon petite ami!

Congrats! Mine, I learned a few years ago, occurred either (depending on which source one goes with) the day before or the day of Star Wars' release, which in retrospect means that I was fated to ... well, not amount to much of anything, really. Oh, well. My mother stood in line to see Star Wars 9 1/2 months pregnant with me because my father convinced her it was worth it. It wasn't many weeks after that she gave birth to 12 lb 4 oz me. At home. With just our doctor. I hope you treat her well on Mother's Day, because, Wow, she went through a lot.

Both my boys were premature with my wife. My oldest was 14 weeks early and was about the size of a 1 liter soda. My youngest was 8 weeks early I believe. But they are both growing and you'd never know from their size now that they were premature. I never held my oldest till they released him from the NICU 14 weeks later when he was suppose to be born. He was born August 17 and he got to come home the day before Thanksgivjng. He looked two small and fragile. I was too scared to touch him.

Yes sir I do. I know then home births weren't that uncommon as they are today. By today's medical standards a baby would get a day past 9 months before they'd induce labor. Hell I've heard you can pick the day you want your kid to be born around the due date. Nothing is left to nature anymore.

My mother jokes that she threatened my father if their child ended up born in a theater for a movie that she didn't even want to watch. I think my father used is marriage "pass" too early. ;-) Aint getting away something like that agsin.

Thanks. These storms followed the hottest weekend ever recorded on the Pentecost weekend here in Germany. So I guess we should get used to more extreme weather patterns like these. You won't happen to be one of those global warming, make-believe(rs)? We all know that doesn't exist.

Howdy. I'm now chatting here more because I got my first ever ban from CBR. That place has gotten bad… I only needed three tries to have one of my messages deleted. No notification, no real explanation. And the best part was having the mod reply in the thread to the deleted message! If they don't see ghosts, they simply create them.
