I can't deal with gravy. Something about it... no. Even the word gravy feels gross. And I certainly wouldn't want any kind of gravy anywhere near my breakfast. That's lunacy.

Growing up in New England, I used to feel much the same way, until I got out here and had the white sausage gravy on biscuits, and the gravy on country fried steak. Still don't like brown gravy at all, and only like white gravy on a few select things, but I do like it. -M

Sorry you're not feeling well. Hopefully it will improve as the day goes on. The last couple of days I really had to work to pull myself out of bed when the alarm rang. Not feeling sick, just a total lack of motivation.

We only had the change to Daylight Savings Time last Sunday in Germany, so this week it always felt extra early for me when the alarm rang.

My poor baby desperately needs to poop but so far can't. The wailing is nearly unbearable, but she finally slept it off. I hope her rest is refreshing and productive. I had thought solid foods would make this easier over time.

I think of it as pouring soup over food, which I do with some kinds. But white gravy, it feels like chunky half curdeled spoiled milk in my mouth. The taste is meh and not the issue so much. It's that texture. Icky! Same with mushrooms.

So is this "white gravy" like a really cheaply made hollandaise sauce?

So is this "white gravy" like a really cheaply made hollandaise sauce? My wife makes it with bacon grease, flour, and milk mixed together in a skillet over heat until it thickens. Some people add small bits of sausage to it for topping on biscuits. Being a bit comical I'm definitely prejudice against white sauces and condiments. Not sure why, other than they all taste bad so far, but it seems a bit odd.

Is she drinking enough water? She is too young to drink water on its own. She still drinks milk with some supplemental baby food. Also, she accomplished her mission shortly after my post. Daddy got to clean it. Hooray?

After making it the entire winter season without getting so much as a sniffle, I wound up with some variety of the flu this week following a plane ride to Houston for a conference. Was fine for day one of the event, but woke up Wednesday achy, tired, and completely congested. It was really bad yesterday on the flight back, with me shivering the entire way, and I spent most of last night drenched in sweat as my fever kept breaking (my wife, bless her soul, insists I take some kind of pill to help with the fever, but all it does is cause me to wake up repeatedly and have to go towel off because I am soaked.)
Today has been a little better, which is good, because I was home with my girls all day due to school being out for Good Friday. To their credit, they played together great this morning while I sat around and rested, then I took them out to Subway for lunch and then to see the new live-action Cinderella movie, which was surprisingly well-done (it didn't hurt that Kenneth Branagh directed it, and he had people like Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, and Stellan Skarsgard in it).
