I just took a long glance (does that means it's not really a glance?) at the injection of Classic Comics into Independents. Yea that isn't exactly a melding of the minds experience. I love a lot of the new smaller press comics being published (Just started SAGA), but when I want to read about classic comics of the glorious past, going there is like entering a Pizza joint to order sushi. That is so not going to work.
For those of you not going back (my time there will be very limited, not even going to do much casual viewing), I think it would be wise to at least register and protect you user-name from being hijacked. Especially high profile users (Looking your way Kurt).

Jonah announcing the deletion of a thread after it being described as a ray of hope is incredible.

Guapo, as far as we can tell made a joke in one of the problem threads. I think the pendulum there has swung too damn far. Vib I'm no concerned about. But Jared got a ban too. |

Seems I was just banned for a week. I was talking to someone about comic book artists and how each one is different in their approach. This was in a thread someone started titled "Taking a Stand: I Support Janelle Asselin's critique of Teen Titans #1". I was having a debate with another user about the cover. We had our disagreements. I cited an example of Ed Benes drawing "big knockers" on his characters all the time. Apparenlty that usage of that term got me banned for a week. Wasn't even warned. The comment wasn't intended to offend and had no malice behind it. I think it was a complete overreaction. I've already tried contacting the CBR staff to inquire about the matter. I think I should have at least been warned. Very surprised.
I'm starting to wonder if CBR really is under this much fire and is trying to save face. I keep thinking the entire board wipe is more of a PR stunt.
