Life's mysteries... why is vegetarian ham chicken flavored? (I won't ask the obvious question of why does vegetarian ham even exist...) -M The same reason vegetarian anything does? For instance, while I occasionally eat meat at restaurants & such (while believing that, morally, I shouldn't ... damn my lack of resolve) I don't use it at home. I have vegetarian versions of hot dogs & hamburgers in the fridge. When I was a kid, we sure weren't vegetarian, but at least as often as not my mother would use Morningstar Farms veggie versions of patty & sausage links &, yes, round slices of ham ... I guess for the perceived health benefits or something. The chicken flavoring, now ... that I can't really address. Hi Dan good to Hear from you how you been doing ?

Otherwise, made it to & from Arkansas (&, technically speaking, Texas, since my motel was right across the state line dividing Texarkana into separate-but-not-apart cities) OK earlier this week. Unfortunately, my wallet decided to stay behind at or near the Citgo station in Springhill, La. I had to have left it atop the rental car while topping off my tank. Oh, well -- I would say "a lesson learned," but clearly I don't learn lessons very well, since I did something very similar last year at the Sam's Club in Flowood, Miss., outside Jackson, where I left the wallet on top of the gas pump. In that case, someone found it & turned it in, so I was able to pick it up after heading back in driving rain for an hour & a half from the Alabama state line. This time around, no such luck when I found it missing 30 miles down the road while putting air in a tire. *sigh* Sorry to hear that man that sucks

Who says Dan was wearing trousers?

Heated up the last pork chop from last night and made more fried eggs to go with it. But these are eggs straight from the chicken my father in law gave us at Thanksgiving. Soooo good. Almost better than the chicken itself. White, whites. Golden yolks. All different sizes and color shells. Not those mass produced, probably cloned eggs. But alas here city ordinances don't allow chicken. I guess that's the price of living in the big city. Fresh eggs are really amazing. My next door neighbors had chickens before they moved and would give us excessive eggs. The yolks are so much richer. There's really no comparison at all to store-bought eggs. That said...I have zero interest in having chickens myself. For me I can't see the benefits outside taste benefiting me. Build/buy coop, buy chickens, buy feed, time to take care of them, egg procurement vs $5 less every two weeks on egg purchases. Yeah, just doesn't balance out. But they are good eggs.

My wife and I had a chicken coop in our backyard. We live in NYC and it's not common, so my wife went on youtube and learned how to build one. She didn't have any experience cutting wood or any type of carpentry but made it anyway. She first bought 3 chickens and later on got 10 chickens. They produced an egg a day each. It quickly got to be too much so we gave many of the eggs away. It got costly between the chicken food and upkeep.

On the topic of eggs, I think we can all agree that buying eggs yolks in cartons is sacrilege.

He still eats eggs with yolks, too, but if he is eating a meal of them, he uses egg whites to give himself more food without the yolk.

Chromecasts are on sale for $25 dollars this week and I'm thinking about getting one. Has anyone used one? Pros and cons?

I had to go google the definition of Somnolent and will use it in emails next week It's a word I've never used before in my life. On the other hand, I use the F word on a daily basis. Sometimes hourly.
