I think the "old school" style is nostalgic! In what sense? The animation style or the overall vibe of the show?

I'm watching Cowboy Bebop. I tried it years ago and couldn't get into it, but I am enjoying it more now. I think the "old school" style is nostalgic! Bebop is great, but really kind of an acquired taste to many. It isn't all super fast action but a true concept using story, music, designs, characterization and more to create an interesting world to explore. Think it might be time for another watching before some more Dragonball Z Super.

No computer enhancement... don't get me wrong, that sort of thing takes cel animation to new levels and I love it in newer shows, but watching an old style one again kind of "takes me back."

Know exactly what you mean. Sleek and cool as new anime might be, still love me some old Gatchaman, Robotech/Macross, or even further back to Speed Racer and earlier giant Mecha team cartoons.

Something special to me being able to watch cartoons late at night when they were always a morning or afternoon thing growing up. It wa primetime cartoon specials along with occasional treats that makes is such a wonderful feeling. The local affiliates all would premiere "new" series in the evenings a week ahead to draw youthful attention.
Dropping in a disc of Lion Force Voltron tonight is a fun reminder for seeing Voltron, Thundercats, GI Joe, Masters of the Universe and Robotech for the 1st time as Friday night 1 hour primetime premieres. I am so glad and happy having so much anime and american cartoons on DVD. Anytime is a good time for animation!

Same, never expected something like Samurai Pizza Cats to get a proper DVD release in the west. If only we could get a re-release of the American Dub of Samurai Troopers on something, that would be grand

Got some of the toys from Kaybee at one point. The music is what got to me the most

Any fans of Neon Genesis Evangelion out there? I've been watching the series on Netflix, but I'm having trouble getting into it. I'm about five episodes in, but I'm finding it a bit slow. Anyone have any thoughts on this show?

Anyone have any thoughts on this show? I appreciate the ideas and the art and such, but the plot is pretty odd. Its definitely slow at the beginning... it picks up when Asuka turns up.

Anyone have any thoughts on this show? I couldn't get into the original series but had better luck with the more recent movie series. Still, the third one left me very confused. Some day I'll watch them again, closer together. (It took a long time for each to get released here for some reason.)

Just watched the first episode of the Shaman King revival, very happy about it but I'm wondering how many people will be turned off by it due to it's heavy lifting of elements and general refinement from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
