I always liked this one, with the shabby details suggesting that our heroes are giving to an underprivileged kid: I guess kids were a lot hardier in the 40's, sleeping next to an open window on snowy nights! What kid would sleep with an open window in the middle of winter indeed ? It's obvious the kid is playing possum hoping the supers only take three of his presents. Pretty manly of Alan and Jay to let Wonder Woman do the dirty deed while they look on and supervise, knowing that Timmy wouldn't hit a frail. Like a poster for b + e, intimidation and the War on Christmas all together. Sad !

Nice Dickensian touch, I think.

The N'Garai first appeared in a prose story in Haunt of Horror #4, and made their comics debut in Uncanny X-Men #96. They've since clashed with the X-Men several times, as well as Wolverine, the Hulk and Dr. Strange, amongst others. Now that you mentioned their name (though I may not be remembering if the Uncanny X-Men issue did or not) I checked the wikipedia page and I have several of their appearances. So I guess, I need to read my comics more. :-) I'll check them out when I get home. Most notably Incredible Hulk #308 which is one of my favorite of Mignola's cover during that run but forgot they were in it. Also my Marvel Premiere #7. But I will have to wait for that till Christmas as I left some of my Dr Strange books I was reading at Thanksgiving when at my father in law's. But that's where we are going for Christmas. Thanks for the memory jog. Edit: Wikipedia says this as well, but needs a citation. Anyone know if this reference and/or story exists in print? I think that's from Haunt of Horror (Vol II) #4, their first appearance.

Not an Entry,
Just a Early Present for the members of this forum. Elizabeth Montgomery not dressed as a witch. She was quite lovely. And as an actress, Elizabeth Montgomery had considerable range. Bewitched often left her playing "straight" to the lunacy and hi-jinks of her co-stars, like the scenery-chewing Paul Lynde, the timorous Alice Ghostley, or the endlessly mugging Dick York. Her turn as one of two surviving combatants in an apocalyptic war scenario (the other being Charles Bronson) in the classic Twilight Zone episode "Two" demonstrated her luminous talent despite her character having no dialogue. She was also mesmerizing in 1975's The Legend of Lizzie Borden playing the title role. Oddly, Montgomery was a distant relative of Borden.

In the bewitched show, it drove me wild when she played the frisky twin sister.

Serena was a hoot and a half. Yeah, Montgomery was a far better actress than she got to show most of the time.
