Lady Death Buxom Thin Waist Leggy Long Hair Sword in Hand Hourglass Figure Dismissed by many That description makes it sound like a character whose comics I'd like to read, but the artwork spoils it for me. Maybe if it were drawn by Wally Wood or someone I'd have been a fan.

If I were to suggest her stories to anyone I would say go for 2000 or later stories. When her appeal wasn't just a bar girl. Not that the 90's stuff was only bad girl stuff. Just that it got a lot of varied artist and writers in that era. I will admit that I think her quality dropped off under the Avatar label. But the 2000 Chaos stuff really tried to overcome that bad girl persona as the defining characteristic of her. She's not as I see (though I've not read any) any different than the Blonde Phantom as far as perceptions and sex appeal.

Daredevil
Driven by guilt, faith, and ego to always try to do the right thing.
Invites great personal risk even when it can be avoided.
Fails more often than he succeeds.
Bad friend. Worse partner.

This is a good description of the Frank Miller Daredevil, for sure, but I don't think it has much to do with the pre-Miller DD.

My impression is that the style of the art still doesn't appeal to me but I'll give it another look next time I see one. I like the "warrior woman" concept in general and would enjoy the sex appeal if only the art worked for me. But there aren't that many artists who can do that kind of thing well, or to my personal taste at least.

Vampirella Dawn Witchblade
Conceptual theme. Tits and ass. 'nuff said. That's my impression, though I haven't read any of the last two and not much of Vampirella. But I do plan to read the Warren Vampirella mags some time, now that I have a few of the back issues. José Gonzalez's art looks great, to my eyes, in sharp contrast to what I've seen of the artwork on the other two characters.

I was misinterpreting your impression of the art as what you thought of the character herself. If that's the case then I feel that way about the few Ms Tree books I've read. Great concept, good character. But the art never compliments the character and writing that it's turned me off to try other issues. To Vampirella .... I've read Warren stuff and Harris stuff. Both have really T&A exhibionist type stories. And both have good interesting stories that don't always capitalize on the T&A. Though her always being in that costume makes it hard to not do so; at least from a visual perspective. I would say of the 50% or so I have of the Warren magazines in TPB form and probably 80% of post Warren stuff; Warren is better overall. And I'd actually give that edge to Warren for the artist more than the writers.
