Less worried over what you call/name a soda/pop/coke and more worried over what alcohol you choose to place into said drink! Get your priorities straight people! That's a question I've been asking myself for several years... Some connoisseurs I know will insist on purchasing the finest vodka... and then drown it in orange or tomato juice. Not that I would recognize a fine vodka if I ever had one, and I basically view it as little more than diluted ethanol... but how could the subtle aspects of a truly remarkable spirit not be totally overwhelmed by the onslaught of flavour found in juices and soft drinks? So true! If i am in the mood for a mixed drink or home made wine cooler i am definitely not spending my money on the premium/expensive finer spirits. A rum and coke is just fine with any regular old rum or Bacardi and i can enjoy a Jack Daniels and Seven-Up or Ginger Ale with a lesser wine fora crisp fizzy. To ruin a truly nice and incredible tasting alcoholic spirit i have never understood. My 15 year old Scotch Malt Whiskey is smooooth and doesn't need anything else for me to savor the flavor

When I can , I keep a good vodka in the freezer next to my bottle of Old Tennis Shoe; the good stuff is for drinking straight (with a twist usually) and occasionally for gimlets; the OTS is for Bloody Marys.

Bacardi Oakheart spiced rum and Dr. Pepper is my go-to at home, with Captain & Coke my choice if I am out with friends.

I drink Vodka with Oj and have never drank it straight. Hard liquor , generally, tastes bad without some flavor. That's probably why it's called hard liquor so?! Whiskey neat, or occassionally on the rocks, is the only way to drink it. When I say Whiskey I mean Irish Whiskey (Jameson's) not Jack Daniels or Scotch... although I wouldn't add a mixer to them either, as if I wanted a soft drink I'd order a Coke!

Less worried over what you call/name a soda/pop/coke and more worried over what alcohol you choose to place into said drink! Get your priorities straight people! I only drink good liquor. So by definition it doesn't need a mixer. And certainly not soda. That said, I do drink gin & tonic in the summer.

I just bought a bottle of 7Up Mojito. It tastes like mouthwash. Is that what a mojito is supposed to taste like? (No clue due to being a teetotaller).
