You know what they say about the best-laid plans...

I did bring several of my new books with me, but since I was here last September, a comic book store opened up across the street from the office. I went there on Monday and bought Autumnlands Book One and Fables Book One. I already have the first issue of Autumnlands, bought directly from Kurt Busiek when it was brand new, so I knew I wanted to read more. And I've read such great raves about Fables here, I've been on the lookout for it.

I read the first chapter or two of Fables the other night and it was clear that the raves were well-deserved, so at lunch today I went over and bought Books 2-12. I flew here with three books in my luggage and will be going home with 16. And I'm going to be visiting another shop tonight!
