Hey, Burns and Schreiber were the World's Finest Comics! Rim shot, please... Buh-DOOM, chuh! Bravo! (No, they emphatically were not, millenials. Don't make Burns & Schreiber a thing, please.)

Chuck Woolery (Neal Adams?) also appeared as Superman on the 1973 ABC Saturday Morning Funtime Preview with forgotten comedy duo Burns and Schreiber, as well as a certain Caped Crusader, marking the first live-action meeting between the two DC titans. Know who else appeared in that special? Aussie rocker Rick Springfield! For the youngsters out there, the special was a preview of the new ABC Saturday morning cartoon line-up, broadcast on the Friday before the launch of the new season. Schreiber and Burns are preparing for a Birthday party for a son or nephew, and various characters are coming to the party, which leads into clips of the new shows. This was the season that the Super Friends debuted. Springfield appears as himself, with an "invisible dog" leash, for the character Goober, of Goober and the Ghost Chasers (a Scooby Doo copy, with a dog who turns invisible, when scared). Springfield appeared as a character in the Filmation cartoon Mission Magic, which revolved around a teacher who would draw a door on a chalkboard and her class would travel to different times and places, via the door, with Rick Springfield as a guide/companion. He also performed songs in the episodes. This was well before Working Class Dog. His memoir devotes less than one paragraph to the show (I think it's just one or two sentences).

For those interested, the special is probably the oldest posted on Youtube...
By the way, it was posted by Avery Schreiber's son, Josh.
