I always wondered why someone hasn't picked up on that name for a comic book character.

I can't think of anything that's more damaging to comic books over time than smoke. Pipe smoke, cigar smoke, cigarette smoke, weed smoke. It settles over the pages with a greasy ubiquity that stains each panel in the same manner that it does teeth, fingertips, lungs, etc. It's a filthy, disgusting, degenerate vice that corrupts all that is good and right about the human spirit.

So naturally, I embrace it whole-heartedly.

Cute story. When my daughters were very young, they suggested I try Nicorette gum or The Patch to allay my nicotine addiction. I patiently explained that I was not addicted to nicotine; rather it's just that smoking makes you look so very cool!
