I was just curious- the members of this forum that leave , are they given an exit interview ? You know, asking them why they're leaving and stuff, or do they just disappear ? I miss a few of the people that have gone missing.

They just disappear if they find this site not to their liking and I miss a couple of members myself - RAZORMAID and Dion Sometimes myself ... Dion and I exchange PM on an occasional basis asking my opinion on several issues involving Comic Books and all and I miss her perspective and such like that.
She was a good friend to me.

Some of the former members come back in a disguise.

Hasn't Jez come back multiple times under multiple screen names? It's pretty easy to tell it's her.

I don't know why someone would have to come back with another name. There's no shame in taking a break.

I garee, but OTOH, if they feel more comfortable coming back under another name, I wouldn't want to hinder their return by criticising the idea.

While this is technically a "community" where we all connect and interact in some form of conversation, it is a site that is here for us depending upon our own desires/needs/demands. People will come and people will go on a regular basis. While it is sad to see fellow members leave it is their decision to do so. If they build a connection with other members and remain in contact with them that is great. What this site is and does for everyone can be for different reasons. I myself am only on site during work hours as i don't utilize a home computer since i am on one 8-12 hours a day. Once i am home the last thing i want/do is being on a computer. One day should i ever have the pleasure of part time working or dare i hope for retirement with much more freedom then i might be onsite more. I enjoy the CCF as a mental and physical rest/break from all the demands of my job where i can enjoy "talking" with fellow folks (geeks nerds goofs) who enjoy the comic book world. Usually i can get a smile from the jokes or talks going on and provide some of my own brand of geekiness while showing my enthusiasm and joy of comic books. All the visual treats of artwork, covers, postings and videos also provides me much necessary relief from the working world. I am glad to participate, but dependent upon life's twists and turns this is a "vacation spot" and not home for me. I am glad to "know" and visit many on here and would miss the site very much if i had to leave but i hope like others who have done that i may find my way back in some form...

I was just curious- the members of this forum that leave , are they given an exit interview ? You know, asking them why they're leaving and stuff, or do they just disappear ? I miss a few of the people that have gone missing. I assume that this is sarcastic? No, they don't give an exit interview, they just up sticks and vanish for their own reasons. It's often the case that, just like any other forum member, the moderators have little or no idea why a person has self deleted their account. Of course, if they're banned from the forum for repeatedly breaking the rules, then that's a different thing, but thankfully that hardly ever happens. Many of those who do self-delete their account do come back eventually, I'm pleased to say. I mean, I've lost count of the number of times that Jez/Ultimate Jezebel/Murderess has deleted her account over something and then come back 6 months to a year later (and I mean going all the way back to when we were over at the CBR forums). The smart money is definitely on her returning again some time in the future. It is a shame that people sometimes decide to leave, but their reasons for doing so are their own and varied. Ultimately, it's nobody else's business but theirs as to why.

I'm sure the mods make every effort to see why a member in good standing wants to leave. I've left a few organizations where they wanted to conduct an exit interview afterwards. But I can see that on the net you can't really do that without them agreeing to talk.

Just wanted to respond in an honest way, but wondered if your post was tongue-in-cheek.
