Disney and Hasbro are teaming up for a new Star Wars venture focused on the female characters of the Star Wars Universe (probably as much a reaction to the #whereisrey controversy that blew up about the merchandising for Force Awakens as anything else, but the net result looks really cool). Disney/Lucasfilm will produce a series of 3-5 minute animated shorts airing ontheir youtube channel this summer featuring new adventures of some of the heroines of the Star Wars Universe, Padme, Leia, Ray, Jyn Erso, Asoka, Sabine, Hera and others. Hasbro will produce line of toys/dolls along the lines of Disney Descendants/Mattel's Monster High and the recent Wonder Woman movie line in terms of scale and style. Looks like Dave Filoni (of Clone Wars and Rebels) will be one of the executive producers and the stories are supposedly cannon. The full announcement will be at Celebration this weekend, by EW had an advance look... EW articletoy previews... prices on these are in line with the Wonder WOman line I just got, $19.99 for standard figures, $24.99-$29.99 for deluxe figures (with accessories, droids, or change of clothes) or deluxe figures (like Chewie). When I showed my wife this, she looked at me and told me I better start saving my toy money, because we're getting these. -M

Sorry to sound like a curmudgeon, but I have zero interest in this. Mind you, as a 40-something male, who doesn't like cartoons, I'm possibly not Disney's target demographic for this.

I'm in the same place as Confessor in terms of interest on these, and that's OK, because Disney will be capturing two sets of eyeballs and plenty of cash from The Captain's household anyway since I have two girls smack-dab in the middle of their target demographic. Good on Disney for doing this and broadening the fan base. Neither of my girls had the slightest interest in the Star Wars franchise until The Force Awakens came out, but now, they're both nuts about it.

I love that Yoda is the correct size, or atleast close to it.
