Found this just recently. According to the info, it's a page of an unpublished Mort Meskin take on Macbeth set in the world of gangsters. Suspiciously similar to the 1955 movie Joe Macbeth. Some of the best Meskin art I think I've ever seen, though. Mort Meskin is another of those lesser-known artists who inspired or mentored all of those artists who are household names. Roy Crane falls into that category, too. Looking at these again, it seems like Meskin was trying to move in a new direction toward something like Raymond's Rip Kirby.

An English translation of the Belgian Blake et Mortimer #24 - Le testament de William S.The plot (taken from ComicVine): "In Venice, a boating accident leads to the discovery of a 400 year old text bearing the signature ‘W.S.’ and promising the truth about the ‘Shakespeare mystery’. That very night, someone tries unsuccessfully to steal the precious document. The discoverer, Marquis Stefano Da Spiri, decides to send a copy of the document to a specialist of the Bard in London for stylistic authentication. As for the original, he entrusts it to an old comrade in arms from WW2: Captain Francis Blake…"

From Superman 44 (1947) I found this story online. It is totally nuts! Clark and Lois accidentally get sent back in time by a clumsy inventor with a time machine. They meet Shakespeare. They start the first newspaper. While gathering news as Superman, he spies on King James I and his Privy Council planning to crack down on the pamphlets that criticize the king. Then, Shakespeare figures out that Superman and Clark Kent are one and the same and he’s going to write a play about it. Superman talks him out of it by giving him the idea for Macbeth!
