Entertaining movie. Very funny. A good sequel that hit all the right buttons I'd say. Still think the narrative of the first film is better, but this is worth going to cinema for. Stay for the three post credit scenes if your interested. The second one is probably the most relevant.

Enjoyed it a lot, glad to see a villain that gets a bit more characterisation than Ronan last time and also have some minor villains in the Sovereign.
Also happy to see the original Guardians show up (even if it was just a short appearance).
Nebula and Gamora got some much needed character development.
Downsides: Mantis was underused and the humor sometimes got a bit much.
Surpising: No Thanos appearance at all.

Saw it, liked it, but it didn't grab me like the first one.

I liked it a lot, despite the plot being a bit flimsy. It's a very character-driven movie, but everyone has some time to shine and we get a lot of character development from Drax, Gamora, Nebula, Yondu and Rocket. The only one who's underused is Mantis.
Great humor too, effective for the most part. Awesome soundtrack and cool cameos.
EDIT: there are FIVE post-credit scenes! So make sure to stay until the very very end.

I liked it, though this is probably the last time I'll see a 3D screening. It's too distracting and even overwhelming.
I'm glad they finally acknowledged the original Guardians other than Yondu, even if they were called something else (Ravagers).
I thought the humor was a bit much and a little low-brow at times (don't really need to know about Drax's "turds") but it was funny more often than not.
Stan's cameos were great ("I have so many more stories to tell!"); were there any others? I felt like some of the civilians reacting to the "Ego waves" might have been, since they've done that sort of thing before.
Once again Rocket was my favorite and it felt like he got more focus this time. He needs to get a solo film! Maybe they could adapt his old miniseries!

I forgot there are five post credit scenes. I guess I forgot there were that many. Most of them seemed pretty mundane.

Just got home from seeing this. I am probably in the minority, but I actually liked this one more than the first one. I thought the character development was what put it over the top, as the plot was just a little better than average. Do completely have to agree with badwolf about the low brow humor, which was totally unnecessary. As well, I felt that the language was a little too much also, with not just the cursing but also just crudeness (multiple uses of the term "douchebag"). OK for me, but this is not a movie either of my daughters will be seeing for a while.

I rather enjoyed the film. I thought pretty much everything worked and had a lot of fun watching it.
It cleaned up and smoothed out the edges of the first one a bit, but then basically did the same thing. Definitely a "stick with what worked last time" approach. Whereas the first one was not what I expected and somewhat blew me away.

I loved it
More character development than the first installment and Kurt Russell was great as Ego! Easily the best villain in the MCU along with Loki (unless you include Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin in Daredevil or David Tennant's Killgrave in Jessica Jones).
It's amazing how Marvel is on, what, their 15th/16th installment in the MCU? And the quality is still excellent.
Meanwhile DC/WB doesn't seem to know their ass from their elbow.

I think I probably liked this better than the first one too, but I haven't seen the original one since it was in the theater, so my memory may be shaky. To me, it felt like it was further development and growth rather than just a retread. Even though theoretically the humor could overwhelm efforts at serious tone, it actually moves pretty deftly between humor and drama. That's a tribute to the acting. Some of GOTG seems geared more toward kids than other Marvel movies, so the crude humor does clash with that. I cringed at some of the jokes - not because I thought they were so awful, but because I thought of little kids watching. It was striking that there wasn't much in the way of set-up to Infinity War. The only set-up there seemed to be was Nebula leaving to do after Thanos. My guess is that Adam Warlock will be used in GOTG Vol. 3 rather than Infinity War.

The "crude" humour struck me as being actually aimed at kids / low-brow teens. Kids of 8 or 9 are obsessed with poo and poo jokes, so Drax crowing abut the size of his turds will have the pre-pubescents in hysterics

I really loved the first one, and consider it in the top 5 of the Marvel movies. This one was a bit long and the story was Meh. I agree with some of the humor being kind of problematic for the younger crowd. Bummer that {Spoiler: Click to show} Yondu died. I really enjoyed him in the film.

I thought it was pretty funny(I loved the trash panda line and the bit about Mary Poppins) but the threat to the galaxy never really hit home. Still, it was a great action movie.

Oh and for those interested: these are all the movie posters of Simon Williams that were made for this movie (I think most of them were in deleted scenes though.) Simon Williams as Tony Stark is my favourite so far. edit: mmm.. facebook automatically embeds, but I can't see anything.
