I wonder what guys like Johns think of it all. Are they really so dense that they don't get why so many people think this kind of thing is not a good idea? Or do they just dismiss it as typical obsessive fanboy anger at any change to their beloved status quo?

Many voices protest "enough!" but enough will buy the books in multiple copies to make it all worthwhile. The readership is so low anyway that when it comes to super-hero comics, I'm not sure anyone in power is worried about damaging the product anymore. |

I feel like between the two of them they've pretty much destroyed the concept of a long term shared universe. I can't speak to Bendis. The only Marvel stuff of his I've read is Jessica Jones, which I really like. And his indie stuff was super good. I don't get the feeling he'd ever write a six issue mini-series about why a character's hair turned grey...but I guess I could be wrong. I could care less about shared universes. I just want good stories. |

Bendis could very easily write a epic 9 part crossover event with tie-ins to explain a couple weird panels, so, yeah, I think he could. He was pretty good before he got his hands on the Marvel Universe, he's just too lazy to use other people's characters... they all become the same person when he writes them.
Johns is worse, though.
