Just read Dark Night Metal #1 and thought it was decent. I was surprised that character showed up at the end.

I was surprised to see this character appear at the end too. I'm not sure how that will play into all this though.
This first issue was o-kay though I enjoyed the prequels more. The bits with Carter, the Blackhawks and such was interesting (though I didn't know the Blackhawks had been appearing in All-Star Batman). I'm just not sure about this overriding story with Batman and this Bat-mythic creature or whatever.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that Synder has been hinting/building up to this reveal about this creature in his previous Batman run. Is that correct?

While I liked the Dark Days preludes a little more, #1 was still awesome.
It seems like a culmination of everything Snyder has done with Batman since the New 52 started. I can't wait for #2.

I wasn't going to get this as I've pretty much written Snyder off but a friend lent me his copies of the Forge, the Casting and Metal #1 and it was pretty interesting...but I hate events that tie into books I don't want to buy so I don't think I'll be following it.

I'm following the main event but I hardly ever buy the tie-ins.
They're largely inconsequential, though I'll buy one if the title is something I'm already reading or was on the fence about.
I see Teen Titans is a crossover issue, and I haven't cared for the characters for years, so I'm definitely not getting the tie-in.

Issue #2 was bat-**** crazy, but in a good way.
I like reading a book that makes me have the breathless sensation as I read it.

I've had Dark Knight Dark City for years and have never read it but esp do now with Barbatos and all.
Very hyped for Hawkman's return as well as the Immortals.
So Kendra is Lady Blackhawk now ?

I enjoyed the Teen Titans tie-in. All hell breaks loose in Gotham and Damian goes to the center of it. The Titans are barely in the issue but there are a bunch of other cameos.

Just read the Flash / Dark Flash issue.
It was really good.
This whole Barbaros / Dark Dimension idea is pretty good actually.
They're now speculating that a lot of those jacked up Elseworlds stories would fit in here too, and maybe the Crime Syndikate didn't originate on Earth-3, but went there from the Dark Dimension.
This could have legs going forward - a negative dimension or universe.

Just read Murder Machine, the cyborg one-shot and it was SO good.
The story was solid and the art incredible.
The Bat family character in loved here is wild too.

maybe the Crime Syndicate didn't originate on Earth-3, but went there from the Dark Dimension. Not that I think it was intentional at the time but IIRC in Forever Evil Geoff Johns had them fleeing to Earth 3 to escape something that was later revealed as the Anti-Monitor. I think it ended up destroying that Earth which led them to the regular Earth. |

Still really liking this. This is big, and I don't think DC is going to back off of Barbatos and the Dark Universe. Looking forward to seeing how the Hawk God fits in as well  |

Well they definitely need to fix Hawkman after that unreadable Rob Liefeld run. Death of Hawkman by Marc Andreyko wasn't bad though.

Anxious to see how Hawkman and Lady Blackhawk / Hawkgirl ? come out of this.
The Unexpected has me curious as well.
Want to like The Immortals and New Challengers.
Damage could be interesting.
What's everyone else thinking of it ?
