When it comes to DC I'm mainly interested in Kirby's New Gods, so that's what I looked at in the New 52. From what I saw in things like Azarello's WW and Johns's JLA Darkseid War, they were not handled well, to put it mildly, so my overall impression is pretty dismal.

Here's one: Did we really need six different Green Lantern books? I'm not going to lie and say that I've gotten to that point in my reading of GL (I'm multi-tasking so many old books that I've actually had to start a list of where I left off) and maybe all of them are excellent, but couldn't they have just been back up features or put in the annuals?

Beast Boy started out as being colored red in the first new 52 volume of Teen Titans. From what I heard they wanted to tie him into "The Red" where Animal Man and Vixen tap into to get their powers. Then when they renumbered the book they switched him back to green without saying anything about it or the characters even noticing. Yeah, that was pretty weird, but not as weird as having two different versions of Starfire running around, so I gave it a pass.

I thought she was only showing up in Red Hood & the Outlaws. I think there are 3 versions of Lobo as well. The one that appeared in Stormwatch who was killed by the younger looking one who had his own title. That version was shrunken down and captured by Brainiac off panel and we get a glimpse of that in a Hal Jordan & the Green Lantern Corp story post Rebirth. Now there's another version running around in JLA.

There was a six issue Bizarro mini series that was fantastic. Very fun but didn't seem to have anything to do with continuity.

The Starfire in her own book was basically the Teen Titans Go! version, played slightly more seriously (But not much). Rebirth Lobo is pretty much the 'regular' one from the 90s... the others I didn't really pay attention to, though I recall when he appeared at first there was some uproar.

Action was good for the first 2 years.
Wonder Woman was great until Azz left. Not for everyone but a great book nonetheless.
A lot of the new things they tried were great, but cancelled early.
Batman I felt suffered. Snyder's writing was basically a poor man's Grant Morrison and felt unoriginal. Batgirl was dreadful because of the decision to keep TKJ in-continuity making the book the complete opposite of the previous BQM run which was a million times better. Tim Drake was ruined and the decision to keep all 4 Robins while removing all Batgirls but Babs remains baffling.
The biggest problems were that 1) the reboot was a rush job with very little thought or planning put into it, and 2) nearly everything became tonally the same as most DC heroes became Batman.

I am just now getting into Rebirth with the graphic novels at the public library where I work and I love what's going on! I love that our Superman & Lois have returned as well as original Wally West! I like our Superman's new suit. It's across from the iconic suit & NEW 52 and I can live with it. The funny thing is remember when NEW 52 Supes was around most people (myself included) missed the red briefs. Well now that the suits been updated again I got use to the missing briefs but now I miss the red boots. LOL Anyway the storyline is interesting since it looks like the Watchmen universe is going to meet the DC heroes, The idea is brilliant! It's still the NEW 52 world but it seems things are slowly returning to the DC world most of us know.
