I've only got one of the IDW Artist's Editions, but I bought it because it featured a comic that was so important in my early comics buying: Mister Miracle #7 (in the Mr. Miracle by Jack Kirby volume, of course). Seeing the double page spread of the streets of Apokolips in its original form really brought back that "little bit of my childhood". By supersizing the experience, it came much closer to duplicating the visual impact that the printed comic had on my young mind.

Ha, I agree, the past is the best! Once you have grown up on old comics you never really outgrow them. Comics that you grow up with shape you. I was reading a new Batman Rebirth book the other day where Batman was obviously having sex with Catwoman & then I was thinking back how much I preferred it (in the old comics) when sex was only hinted at or implied. Yeah, everything naughty is in your face these days. Batman & Catwoman were at their best when everything was a tease.
