But what stops the other photo hosting sites from doing the same in the future? As Shax said, nada... We can only hope that the next site we select will be more honourable than Bucketofdung. Just in case, I keep a backup of my review threads as Word documents. They do not make replacing the images easier, but at least if a crisis occurs the bloody things won't be lost forever. |

I was thinking of reposting all the images , but it would take weeks. I'm just going to keep all my pix on my computer from now on, just in case something similar happens again.

Definitely seems like a bandwidth thing.. I mostly post pics others have already put on the net in my threads, but those few I've scanned and posted seem to be intact.

I mostly post pics others have already put on the net in my threads, but those few I've scanned and posted seem to be intact. considering the current effect on the 'scariest covers' and 'sexiest covers' threads (I checked), this bears out. I'm glad I never went with Fudge-bucket. Sympathies for those whom did. |

I've always used tinypic.com and have never had any problem with it. Forget this advice, shaxper. I've just realised that tinypic.com is owned by Photobucket. *gulp* Hope they don't pull a similar stunt there. Although, tinypic's whole thing is that it's a service specifically for linking to pictures on third-party sites like MySpace, eBay, or message boards, so you'd hope not. I have all of the pics that I use in my review threads backed up on DVD-Rs, so I could host them somewhere else if worst comes to worst. That would be a hassle I could do without though. |

I just finished downloading all the photos that I needed from Fbucket and deleted my account. It will officially be deleted on 7-3-17. F- U , Fbucket !!!  |

More annoyance...
Looking at the image files I downloaded from FUbucket, I notice that several of them are much bigger than they should be. I don't remember the size of each of these old files, naturally, but there's no way I would have uploaded so many 500K image files! They've all been changed to png files, too, so I assume that some of them were made bigger in the conversion.
They must be reopened in Photoshop and re-saved for Web use... bringing them down from 500K to 50K, usually.
As if transferring everything to another hosting service and editing each of our review posts wasn't enough. Yes, thanks a bucket, oh most lousy of hosts.

Sorry, Roq. I decided to replace some covers and just delete others in the Cover threads that I started. Maybe I'll just repost as new instead of trying to figure out what belongs where. I promised Shax that I wouldn't post any more covers on the Sexy covers thread , but I might repost the covers that I got FBucked out of.
