First appearance of the Water Wizard, with cover by The King and either JRSR or Joe Sinnott (Comic Book Database and Mike's Amazing World have conflicting identification of the inker) I don't think this cover looks smooth enough to have been inked by Sinnott. GCD suggests John Verpoorten (which seems more plausible) or Frank Giacoia, with alterations to GR's face by JRSR. I might have guessed Al Milgrom, who had inked the previous two issues' covers.

I think this is the first DC/Marvel collaboration:

IIRC, Marvel had that Oz book ready to go to the printer when they discovered that DC owned the rights to adapt the movie. DC happily put their name on it and collected some money.

He never graced the cover of the Demon, if he had I would have used this Kirby version of the Arthurian mage. I had the same problem: I was sure Dakimh must have appeared on at least one cover out of all those Fear and Man-Thing comics he appeared in during Gerber's run, but apparently not.

more for the Ditko cauldron and other wizardly paraphernalia than for the wizard himself. Much the same kind of imagery is seen in Ditko's Dr. Strange, so it strikes a chord with me.
