Tell us who was a model member in August. What are we looking for? Service to the community, initiation of engaging conversations, having well-expressed insights, or just plain being friendly. Who makes this community a great place to be?
Previously, we have honored shaxper for starting this whole crazy thing up, jasoomian for his work on the front page, and mrp for his great contributions to discussion, with a little bit of modding on the side. Our staff grows continually, it seems, and a lot of behind the scenes hard work is being done, which is worth recognizing. And of course, the most valuable piece of the community is the people who tell us interesting things about classic comics.
So go ahead and vote! And remember...
The M.M.M.s want you!
The process: 1) Each month a thread for voting will be started, usually within a few days of the start of the next month 2) Either nominate a poster or vote for a poster who has already been nominated by posting in the thread. 3) Each member may make at most one nomination in addition to at most one vote on another nominee. 4) Each nomination should include a brief (sentence, say) explanation. Votes may or may not include this. 5) Voting will conclude precisely 1 week after the thread opens, and the winner will be announced soon after.
Examples: If the person you wanted to nominate has already been nominated, then just vote for that person. If the person you want to nominate hasn't, then nominate them! Be sure to include an explanation After your nomination, if another great candidate is nominated, go ahead and vote for them as well.

So many choices this time around. I think I'm going to make my push for two posters in particular: bronzeagebrian, once again, for going above and beyond last month to help diffuse the classicshaxper fiasco by registering at that other site and explaining to some very hotheaded community members there that classicshaxper wasn't me, and also and especially for the bang-up job he's doing on the front page. Far more impressive than it ever looked when I ran it! And coke &comics who really took the initiative as a community leader of sorts here very early on, getting a lot of threads and traditions started (both old and new), not the least of which was the MMMS. Put my vote towards whichever one it helps more. Other members I hope to recognize soon: Hoosier X, Scott Harris, Thwhtguardian, mars, and hondobrode. And let's be honest: Cei-U's got December in the bag already

Another member I should have mentioned is Ish Kabbible. His underground comix thread adds a whole new dimension to our classic comics discussions, and he's also our most prolific poster, with every one of those thousand+ posts being substantial and adding to the richness of conversation in this community.

My vote is for Trebor the Unconquered for bringing comicbookdb.com (and dcindexes) to my attention.

Lots of good choices. If this thread were for handsomest member, I would definitely be seconding that coke guy. But since it's not...
I'll back bronzeagebrian who is sometimes kind enough to spotlight threads by the handsome coke guy on that cover page.

Also an excellent nod. Intelligent talk about comics is what this board needs most of all. One day when life is more stable I hope to be contributing as actively and as substantially as Ish.

I'm going to go with Dupont, he always expresses himself very well and is never short of insightful information on which ever topic he engages in.

My vote is for Trebor the Unconquered for bringing comicbookdb.com (and dcindexes) to my attention. I appreciate the nod, mars, but I feel that I haven't been contributing enough lately. I read some of those scholarly review threads and discussions and get depressed. I then find myself wasting time watching angry ram videos on YouTube. Angry ram videos.

I'll go with bronzeagebrian simply on the sheer perseverance of doing the front page every day, but every nominee so far is worthy.

Adding my vote for bronzeagebrian for going above and beyond in defusing the classicshaxper fiasco.
