The Sgt Fury comic has one of my favorite stories. Obviously inspired by Von Ryan's Express (the train setting).

Ah, the Champions and Black Goliath, proving that Marvel wasn't exactly batting a thousand, in the Bronze Age, even though I love both of them.

Bought off the racks in November 1976 (or at least had as a kid because some may have come in the polybag 3 pack grab bags)...
-Avengers 156 (one of my favorite issues as a youngster, read til it was dog eared)
-Invaders 13 and 14 (I am pretty sure 13, the issue with the Golem was gotten in a polybagged 3 pack for Christmas, so I might not have gotten it til December or even Dec 1977 depending on the lag time for the polybags. 14 has the Liberty Legion, and I had the Marvel Premiere issue with them as well, but that didn't come out this month.
-Thor 256, Thor vs. tenatacle monsters for the win, though this may have been another polybag acquisition not off the racks.
I have a host of other stuff form this month now, but that's what I was grooving to when I was 7 in the fall of '76.

Let's see, on sale in December 1976 I had the following books "off the racks" or in polybag 3 packs... Cap #207 (a polybag get and my first real taste of Kirby in the 70s as a kid) Iron Man #96 (loved the broken armor cover and it was what gave me solace as my Mego Iron Man's costume tore and broke with extended play, because it was in the comics!) Marvel Super-Heroes #63 (still one of my favorite Hulk covers, and Ka-Zar!) I have picked up many more from this month in the years since, but that's what I had at the time. -M

I own Doc Savage #7. And have Conan the Barbarian #72 and Savage Sword of Conan #17 in collected editions.
I tend not to get a ton of stuff that predates the month and year of my birth.
