Future Quest Presents #3Written by Jeff Parker Art by Ariel Olivetti Summary: Space Ghost and Metalus square off in a final battle among the ruins of the Space Force's citadel. Plot: Parker continued to nail the Saturday morning cartoon feel here and I loved every panel of it. I think my favorite part of this book is the fact that it stays true to that Saturday morning spirit but still offers up solid action and characterization. This could have easily come off as feeling overly simplistic, but Parker manages to offer threats that feel real to the characters with out being "gritty" which is a great change of pace. Art: Olivetti is stunning once again, I thought I'd miss the Rude Dude(and heck I'd love to see more from him!) but her work has been stunning right along blending realism with the look of the cartoon perfectly with out ever looking stiff or artificial. Grade:10/10 Definitely going to buy the trade when it comes out...all because of your reviews.

Riverdale #7: Dilton Doily gets the spotlight in this issue by writers Aaron Allen and Will Ewing with art by Thomas Pistilli. Lots of Dilton’s background is revealed. We learn he grew up in a home full of paranoia with a very misguided father. Of course all this resulted in Dilton being a very capable but odd young man. Dilton predicts the end of the world to his classmates and Betty asks Jughead to keep an eye on him. There is a very tense and uncomfortable tone throughout the book. Ethel has a an off putting encounter with Dilton. Jughead learns just how messed up Dilton is when he agrees to join him in the bunker built by Dilton and his dad. The art lends itself to this very creepy story. There’s a shot of the kids in the school hall looking like regular students and Dilton is in the center. He looks very ill at ease, paranoid, and dare I say crazy. I was not expecting such an intense and uncomfortable story. 9/10 For me I don't mind the "darker" versions on the TV show. But I'm just not crazy about reading them in the comics. I prefer the New Riverdale or classic stuff instead.

Have you read the original Future Quest?

Superman #33: a great issue by Tomasi, Gleason, and Mahke. I was dreading this story as I’m not a fan of Darkseid, Apokolips, and all they are associated with but the premise really grabbed me. The issue went quick and left me wanting to know more, especially with the ending. The art was on point. Lois looked attractive, not mousy, Superman looked phenomenal, and the scenes on Apokolips—it was as if you were there surrounded by all the chaos. Jon didn’t annoy me in this story and I loved the scene of him and Superman fighting the Lexbots. I liked the scene of the Kents’ family night out. After a string of full-ins, Superman is back in a big way. 9/10

That was a great series too, I love Kelly and Olivetti hasn't lost a step with the art. If you end up liking this new Space Ghost story you should check out Future Quest too though, it was an awesome book that incorporated all the the Hana-Barabara heroes.
