I just can't imagine printed Comics ever going away completely. The act of possessing a physical object is a huge part of collecting as opposed to just reading. You can't collect digital images, can you?

I just can't imagine printed Comics ever going away completely. I hope they don't. While it can be convenient carrying a bunch of comics around on my iPad, I much prefer reading them in print.

I want to take a moment to share some positive news. After a prolonged pm debate with a mod at the new CBR, one of the higher-ups (I don't know which) apparently stepped in and decreed that I am allowed to continue to advertise for the CCF over there in my signature space. That may not seem like much to those of you who have had some very negative experiences over there as of late, but it shows that someone at CBR is aware of our community and respects it. Up to this point, we've been operating without any knowledge of what CBR thought of our new home and whether there might be troubles in the future if, for example, we attempted to quote from an old post that was technically CBR's property. For the moment, we appear to be in good-standing and, considering how frequently bannings have been occurring as of late with no questions asked, the fact that a higher up explicitly stepped in to defend us really says something. This is not an invitation to get into a huge discussion/rant about how CBR has changed, once again, and it's not an expectation to begin universally praising the site either. It's an acknowledgement that they acknowledge and respect us. And since we now know they've been checking out this forum, I think that makes it more important than ever that we not fall into Anti-CBR rants. Let's remain in good-standing with them. Thanks, everyone, for being a community that's worthy of such respect. Good man. Thanks for doing this. I'll have to say this forum has reinvigorated me. For whatever reason this page downloads better on my computer and I find it easier to navigate.
Thanks for fighting the good fight.

I just can't imagine printed Comics ever going away completely. The act of possessing a physical object is a huge part of collecting as opposed to just reading. You can't collect digital images, can you? I don't think they will go away completely. I think that, like vinyl, it will become a niche market. Well, more so. One thing that Amazon has started doing when you order some CDs or LPs they give you the rights to download the MP3s on their music service. That is a killer value and a surefire way to get me to buy music. Quality AND convenience. Wow, OJ's wild ride was 20 years ago?? Sheesh. "Wild ride" lol he could've got out and run faster. (actually, it was mindless filler that meant nothing, but let's pretend it was intentionally witty) I don't mind the digital for the stuff I don't care about that I just want to keep up on (general MU/Xbook plots), but for the books I'm interested in I will continue to want physical copies (TWD, Invincible, etc).

And it's also a full moon tonight, so Jason's going to have to fight it out with the werewolves.

For whatever reason this page downloads better on my computer and I find it easier to navigate. Yeah. They just moved to a newer server to eliminate some of the lag, but there's still a lot of junk that loads to your browser when you go to their pages. My antivirus intercepted a few suspicious items twice in my last six visits. I think it's all coming from their ad service.

I'm not sure it's possible for anyone to have less interest in soccer than I have.

Is anyone else here besides me not following the World Cup? Huge following locally...plus it's a crowd drawer in the bar...meaning full house for the next month. Besides, my dad and brother are huge England/Manchester United fans...and then there's cricket too.
