Guapo, as far as we can tell made a joke in one of the problem threads. I think the pendulum there has swung too damn far. I checked in from another browser. May favorite bit on the "No Thanks" thread was when somebody made a post like "guys, the existence of this thread alone should make us optimistic about the new CBR." Then something like 5 posts later, Jonah gets back in and says "This thread gets deleted at 2 o'clock". At this point, I am not sure I'll check back in when my ban is over. Wow. I thought you guys might be joking until I checked. This could get ugly. |

Well sounds like CBR has joined the ranks of the Bendis board for drama. Good to see we have a new home. As I read, lurking for a bit, we went from renters to home owners.

Congrats, adam! Well, until your first major repair ... For me (well, us -- I got married a 2nd time 6 months later), it was discovering on Fourth of July weekend, about a month after we moved in, that the central a/c couldn't handle temps in the high 90s. Oops.

I guess I should have been more specific. I meant us as a community from CBR to here. I remember a poster mentioning that analogy as I was lurking before I signed in. I've been reading a lot here and there since I tried to sign on at CBR after work to see what had happened.
As far as that subject, though, I am of the mind that I don't mind renting all my life. Home ownership is a lot of responsibility, hassle, and work, three things I got enough of as it is. Maybe someday when I can enjoy it more than now. But as is, I am happy just paying someone to take care of all the crap for me.

Gee, waking up to see ALL the chat threads like "Rita's" locked and Mr Weiland allowing only one chat thread for all of CBR. And of course, SUPERECWFAN1 banned as well. If one poster could not survive in a a "no nonsense post" environment...
What is Weiland thinking? "Only serious posts! This is gonna be FUN!"

That's almost certainly why he killed the Classics board then. No more subcommunities is the clear message. Rita's was my group. But the X-Cres and all the rest were thriving little subcommunities. One of the threads has announced its move to the Bendis boards. At this point it just seems like Jonah wants all the old posters to leave so he can try again. Jeff Brady also banned. |

This is really absurd. I still can't believe I got banned for saying "Benes draws big knockers on his women all the time" to someone critiquing a piece of art. Off-the-cuff discussion is strictly not allowed over there anymore it seems. Mod abuse to the max. It's sad when folks feel the need to use the internet to put on the cape and feel big. Especially a grown adult. Reminds me of that X-Files episode where Mulder and Scully visit that town where everyone has to abide by the CC&R's or else....
