Look Out, a Monster! you say? Changing cover because 1. The image was too small for my liking. A 2. How could I not remember this one.

What does that sign on the building in the background say? That smoke is making it hard to determine...I though it said "Rolands Lard" but realized it was an O at the end of the second word.

The Vault of Evil cover is pencilled by Gil Kane and looks to be inked by Romita. So the question is whose assistant did (and signed) the background?

Look out! There's a monster behind you, and only the blind man in sunglasses realizes it!

I am intrigued how well a story about a mutant mushroom is. Please tell me you have read it. Also, thank you for showing me a series I never knew existed. Did it see more than one issue? The story is not quite as depicted on the cover- the mushrooms are giant and bizarre, but have no skeleton limbs to speak of! The mushrooms do sneak up on the guy (who is also misrepresented on the cover) in a manner of speaking...but not without some help. The story is short and decent, the sort of thing that might make a young reader swear off eating mushrooms for life. I actually discovered this title (which only lasted 3 issues) when searching for comic covers featuring mushrooms. Personally, I think the skeleton-mushroom is a pretty great idea that deserves its own story!

He liked to credit himself on partially obscured signs.
