This is the time of the year when the CCF switches off the proboards ads and pays to run our own. Ad revenues are far more lucrative during the holidays, and what we earn from them in November and December covers the operating costs for the site throughout the entire year.
Of course, you don't really need to know all of that. What you do need to know is that, until the end of December, we have control over the ads you see on the site, so if there is a problem, there's a lot more we can do to aggressively take care of it. Please be good enough to switch off any ad blockers you may be running (@mechagodzilla, I know your situation is different) and do let us know if you experience any problems.

At least it didn't promise to wipe out humanity... |

I just got the Roquefort Raider link too. That gentleman appears to be quite popular!
It's actually a flaw in the link-generator's logic. We click on the link because we're wondering why it's there, and that tells the algorithm to keep showing it to more people.

Disabled our ads today and switched back to the default setup, FYI. While the ads were "on" I noticed the site was a lot slower on my home computer, my tablet & my work computer. |
