Very generous of you to do that for your co-workers. Do you get holiday pay for that? No.
Since I cut back to part time my time is more flexible now. So I try & give those who still work full time a break when I can. After all isn't that what this time of the year is supposed to be about...giving to others?
Absolutely. Well done, my friend.

I may have miscommunicated. I'm playing the Gazillion MMORPG. Cei-U! I summon my Level 60 Rocket Raccoon! Is that the one Disney is ending, originally they said in December but I saw somewhere they were ending it tomorrow? I don't follow online Marvel games much, so there may be more than one and it might be a different game, but I saw something on BC about it when I followed a link on my newsfeed. -M That's the one. The announcement is up on the front page of the website. There are very few video games I can play given my limitations and to have one that coincides so nicely with my tastes was especially nice so I'm pretty bummed. Cei-U! I summon the Sucksgiving (though I'm a day late)!

Staying at home, cooking some ham (the missus likes it, I'd prefer turkey) and baking pumpkin bread. We'll probably watch A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (my wife rolls on the floor when Snoopy fights the deck chair) and maybe Peter Pan Goes Wrong, on youtube. It's from the group that put together The Play Gone Wrong, and filmed for the BBC, with David Suchet (Poirot) as the narrator. It's a farcical version of the Peter Pan stage story, with sets going haywire, messed up line readings, an appearance by Poirot, and a an accident or two. Hilarious stuff!

I thought about attending the Acolytes of Cthulhu Thanksgiving Day Parade... but decided against it. Managed to avoid political talk all day at the Thanksgiving festivities, and played a few rounds of euchre with Amy and I partnered against her brothers, with us emerging victorious for the day. So all in all, not a bad day. -M

Since moving back to Iowa post-divorce, I've been pretty busy.
I work full-time as a credit card and payroll processing Relationship Manager, which I do during the day.
At night I also work full-time as a sales rep for a Ignition Interlock Device (IID) company, answering the phone and extolling the virtues of why our device and service is the best, for people who have had a DUI and are ordered by the court or DMV to get one.
I'm here covering in case anyone is crazy enough to call looking for info during Thanksgiving. It pays time and a half and I'm literally the only one here in the sales department, which has never happened. It's quiet and I just cruise the internet waiting for the phone to ring.
No big deal
Had Thanksgiving with my son-in-law's family and my daughter who flew in last week for an early Thanksgiving and to catch up with family but especially to see her newborn niece, the first grandchild of mine, born last month.
It's a low key Thanksgiving this year and I'm fine with it.
Wishing everyone in my virtual family here a Happy Thanksgiving, health, peace and prosperity.

I thought about attending the Acolytes of Cthulhu Thanksgiving Day Parade... After the feast today, my wife and I returned home and finished Stranger Things 2. It's quite interesting how these Lovecraftian concepts permeate so much of our popular fiction, yet very little of it is properly credited to its progenitor. But make no mistake, any time a slimy tentacle slithers out of the darkness and displays rows of jagged teeth along its soft, pale, undulating belly, that's a horror that was first conceived by a timid New England shut-in with a (thankfully) very troubling imagination.

I've worked in the retail industry in one capacity or another for the last 25 years and I can't remember the last time I had the day of Thanksgiving off. This year was no different, worked my last 8 hour shift for this week, feeling exhausted after the long and busy sales build-up for this holiday.
Then, went over to my sister and her family's home for supper where this was the first Thanksgiving since my father passed away last year (Mom passed away 10 years ago) so for me, something was acutely missing last night but seeing my sister-in-law's three young children hooping & hollering & having fun was great as well as seeing all three of my nephews home at the same time from college.
And anytime the Dallas Cowboys lose on Thanksgiving, it just makes the holiday all that much sweeter.
