I have 7 Marvel, 3 DC, and 2 independents so far, but my 12 might still change. Hope I can find good images for all of them.
I think some of my alternates will be just as interesting as my final 12, and I imagine the same will be true for other people as well so I'm looking forward to the Near Misses thread this year.
(edit:) Damn, I thought I could relax after making a tentative decision on my final 12 but then I realised I haven't thought about what how I want to rank them.

I'm considering participating this year, but I have a question. Can the submission be for a villain's overall "look", even if their costume is say, just plain clothing/everyday clothing? Absolutely. Cei-U! I summon the seal of approval!  |

Please everyone, post pictures with your entries. It saves the other posters from having to google the look of the entry.

While pics are nice and wonderful and show what you are talking about some of us cannot post pics. If I could I would post pics, but since I only post from work (hospital) our computer system here doesn't allow for external connections/links/pics so I won't be posting pics. Wish that I could but sorry I can't  It says in the entry rules: Keep in mind that these are your personal favorites, not what you or anyone else considers “the best,” and remember: you must explain your choice. You are not required to include pictures of your selections but if you do, please post no more than two images per entry. |

I learned going through my list of possible selections that I have three or four supervillain costume design archetypes that I prefer, as almost all of my picks fell into one of those categories, and often several of them. One of the reasons I like doing this event every year is it makes you think about why you like what you like.

And I'm not sure if I can do extensive write-ups so I'll probably use mostly pictures (I know two's the limit). |

Final tally looks like 2 Marvel (with a two more appearing in Marvel books but being a licensed character) and 1 DC. The rest are indy, strip characters, or like my first choice, originated outside comics but have a design the originated in comics. Four Marvel and 3 DC missed the final cut and will wind up in honorable mentions.

As a moderator, I am able to edit other people's posts, so I could always add an image to your picks after you've posted. If you're not that bothered about having images, no problem, but if you'd like an image accompanying your posts, just let me know. |
