I know there are Red Sox fans here...
An old high school friend of mine lives in Cambridge and has about 500 comic books, mostly Marvel from 1965-71, and he's interested in selling them. Where would you advise him to go? There's probably a local shop that's better than Lone Star or Mile High - isn't there?

Haven't been in the area in a long time, but Million Year Picnic is in Cambridge, don't know how they are now, but they used to be good. Comicazi is not too far away as well and they won the Eisner Spirit of Retailing award for 2017 and I know they buy collections. -M

I don't sell too often, but my favorite store in the area is That's Entertainment.. it's in Worcester ( probably 45 minutes to an hour from Boston). There's also New England Comics... they're a smallish chain, and definitely have a store in Cambridge (near the Charles Hotel).

It takes more time, but I still advise breaking the collection down into story arcs and selling those smaller groups online. Selling the whole shebang to a store is certainly quicker but you're not likely to get very much money for it that way.

A couple more north of Boston: Superworld Comics in Holden; Nick's Comic Strip in Middleton; Comically Speaking in Reading. I think it's the one in Reading where a friend of mine sold a couple of thousand comics (60s, 70s, 80s) a few months ago.

That's entertainment in worcester is my lcs, and they've always been very fair with me. I think they are also maybe the biggest store in the region so it's a good place to start.
Bedrock comics in Framingham is a really nice shop as well.
There are a ton on comic book stores in eastern Massachusetts, so there are always more options. There are 2 stores in Bellingham, 2 in Lowell, 2 in Maynard, another in Framingham...
I'd say by reputation, that's e, million year picnic, comicaze, and bedrock are all good places to try. Superworld is also good, though better known for golden age books.
