I really just want it to make things easier to keep track of, really. It's a small thing that doesn't require money or effort on the publishers part, but that would create a fair amount of goodwill. I totally agree with you about trade dress being more important than content.. that's a big problem. I still think the answer (For Marvel and DC anyway) is cheap paper Shonen Jump type anthologies as the first printing... then quickly to trades I'd love to see something like that, but they would need to distribute it to where potential buyers are, not to the direct market, as the remnant of the audience that was which remains in the direct market will not go for that format. Anthologies do not seem to sell well in the American direct market. -M |

Yeah, true.. they've have to get back to magazine racks, too. I think Americans in the Direct Market would adjust if they had no choice, too. People aren't going to stop buying comics because they don't like the format.. would they?

People aren't going to stop buying comics because they don't like the format.. would they? there's people here on these forum who won't read trades, or won't read digital, and will only read floppies (some I know of from elsewhere who will only read books on newsprint), etc. so is it so hard to imagine it could happen on a larger scale in the marketplace? -M |

I don't fault Sakai for making this format switch, he's more than earned the opportunity and status. But it will mean that I will have to keep up more with DH's solicits as each new mini is announced so I can make sure to put it on my pull list on my LCS' website. The reward is worth the effort though.  |

Since we now know that it's about early Christianity in Japan, I can recommend watching Martin Scorsese's Silence, which deals with the same subject matter (if you have Amazon Prime, it's streaming on there).

Since we now know that it's about early Christianity in Japan, I can recommend watching Martin Scorsese's Silence, which deals with the same subject matter (if you have Amazon Prime, it's streaming on there). You could also watch the original Japanese film....

I'm really struggling here, what was the previous story that ended with the object people kept dying for ended up being the Bible? I remember really liking the story but for the life of me I can't remember the name, but I'm glad to see it continued here.
I'm really loving the building intrigue here with the Master, and now possibly the Shoganite itself. I'm really excited to see how this all plays out.
The best part though?

I'll have to go back and read that again. I'm usually the same way, although I wait for the trade. When I picked up book 31 the other day however I was really jonesing for more...and there were only a few issues after that so I just went for it and scooped them up and I'm glad I did. |
