I was looking up the cast of Rudolph's Shiny New Year and I was surprised to see that Jules Bass was still alive.

Nehemiah Persoff played the recurring role of Jake Guzik in The Untouchables (and Capone's mentor Johnny Torrio in the 1959 film Al Capone), starred in the first season Twilight Zone episode Judgement Night, appeared in The Naked City, On the Waterfront, and Some Like it Hot, and is still with us at age 98. Speaking of The Twilight Zone, Earl Holliman who starred in the first episode 'Where is Everybody?' is 89. Donnie Dunagan not only appeared in Son of Frankenstein alongside Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, and Basil Rathbone in 1939, but did the voice of Young Bambi in 1942. Phyllis Coates played Lois Lane in both Superman and the Mole Men and the first season of the George Reeves series and also played a leading role in I Was a Teenage Frankenstein. Additionally, she also starred in the serial Panther Girl of the Congo. She'll be 91 in a few weeks.

Nice to hear that so many of these folks are living to their '90' (and in some cases beyond). As I mentioned in the RIP thread, the life expectancy had really increased (at least in industrialized countries) in the past 100 years.
That being said, as you get older your health typically gets worse...

David McCallumThe Man From Uncle Days ... He's 84 and still staying strong, the reason for bumping this thread ... is the fact that I was surprised to learn that's he 84 years old and doing quite well. I don't know how long he'll continue to act on NCIS - NCIS has been around for 15 Seasons and he's one of the show original cast members being there since the beginning. Man, he's 84 and still remembers his lines and no sign of slowing down!

Not terribly old, he's only 64, so maybe not a huge surprise but I started watching the new Lost in Space on Netflix and in the second episode I spotted Bill Mumy who played Will Robinson in the original series and it really surprised me. One, that I immediately recognized him and then when I saw how active he's been.

Elvis Presley would have been 83 had he lived to see 2018. Although he died in 1977, the woman who portrayed his mother in Blue Hawaii is still with us. Angela Lansbury Since thwhtguardian brought up Bill Mumy (great choice, by the way) here's another child actor who could potentially still add to his resume if he so chose: Silas Hathaway from The Kid (1921) playing the title role as a baby.

His profile decreased; but, he worked pretty steadily through his adult years, including 5 years as a supporting character on Babylon 5. This video kind of explains his profile, over the years, if you listen to the details... To summarize, he has had problems with agents over the years (which is probably the bigger problem of stereotyping, for actors) and, he made enough money in his younger days, which his father invested wisely, taking care of him and his family as an adult. He was able to work on things he enjoyed, rather than hustling for gigs, like many actors (especially former child actors). Hollywood goes nuts over people who are in a position to turn them down. You say "no," and they throw more money at you. That isn't to say they still respect your work. For the Lost in Space Movie, Mumy was offered a cameo; but, he pitched the idea of playing the adult Will Robinson, from a potential future. The filmmakers shot down the idea as "too confusing for the audience." Hunh? You have another actor as an adult Will Robinson and it is too confusing for the original actor, who is an adult and an accomplished actor, to play the part? What they meant was they didn't want it to be too associated with the original, especially the campier later seasons. They wanted cameos, for good will and to get fans out for opening weekend; but not for any significant contribution. Jonathan Harris told them to get stuffed when they offered him the total of six lines. I have been meaning to check out the new series; though I loathe the idea of remakes (rarely work out well). When I read that he did an episode, I figured it was worth at least sampling.
