I'm 37 and its been a long time since I bought and read comics since 1996.
These days it's the new stuff that amazes me, whatever. Comics like Walking Dead, Manifest Destiny, Snotgirl, New x Men, New and old characters of Mighty Thor etc. Even the so called comics for kids have adult humor such as the Rick and Morty comic.
Back in my teen days in the mid 1990s it was just Spawn, x Men, spider man, batman, superman and bone.
Things sure have changed with comics these days

I will be 56 in a few weeks & I lament that a lot of new comics aren't all ages & have become too violent IMO. I also miss when they were more "reader friendly". By that I mean picking up an issue & being able to get into the story without it being one chapter in a longer story or knowing all the back story.

I reached in my teens in mid 2000s, so was reading more comics then (had better pocket money lol) honestly never noticed them being violent. I think in general everything was matured compared to older generation. But still, comics are more diverse in character types now and less sexist, so while there is maybe more violent its equally opportunity violence

By the sheer amount of ideas/creativity comics are beatin' Hollywood and Bollywood (and other woods) these days hands down.

I rather have the 80 Page Giants (produced by DC Comics) over the newer comics of today ... sorry members and that's why I don't care for the newer books that uses CGI for coloring sometimes. These are my favorite books and I have about 40-50 of these books ...

These are my favorite books and I have about 40-50 of these books ... I agree. Back then it wasn't easy to get back issues so these reprints were the best way to read past stories. In a way they were precursors to today's trade sized collections. IMO DC did a better job than Marvel utilizing their past stories from the 40's thru the 60's. Marvel pretty much stuck with reprinting their early 60's material back then.

There are more than a few books from the Silver/Bronze Age that had very poor coloring that blended off the images. Maybe If I find these books in my collection , I'll post a scan.

I've understand your valid points ... but I just can't get past of some of the books today because of CGI and other formats that they used for coloring and etc. I just can't past that and that's my only complaints about today's books that being published after 2005. I don't own any books except some Wonder Woman/Bionic Woman books done by Dynamite Comics and the Batman/Green Hornet done by DC Comics. I agree that books back then has poor coloring and I've don't always see that and that's not a major concerns to me. I just dismiss it altogether and saying that to be true to the letter. Thanks for your comments and I've echo them in earnest.
