Being from the NFC and I'm rooting for the Eagles to beat the New England Patriots and I've not determine the final score should be - but I'm thinking 24 to 20 in favor of the Eagles and I've might change my mind of the final score before February 4th rolls along. I'm not a Tom Brady fan and I'm sick of the Patriots getting all the marbles and wanting a different winner this time around ... who you want to win the 52nd Super Bowl on February 4th?

First I have been hoping for an all Pennsylvania Super Bowl as long as I can remember. So I was disappointed with the Steelers loss. Second I am NOT a fan of the NE Patriots. Third I live in central PA where we like both PA teams so for me...
Eagles.

I’m not an NFL fan to begin with, but it would be hard to come up with a match I’m less interested in. I despise the Patriots. And the Eagles, or at least their fans, are amongst the worst there are.
Bleh!

I was pulling for my Vikings. So could care less and won't be watching.

I’m an NFC guy too and much as I’d like to see some variety in the winners, I just can’t bring myself to actively root for the Eagles.
I’ll be pulling for Darth Hoodie and the G.O.A.T.

Is it wrong that I hope enough of both rosters are in concussion protocol by the end of the first quarter that they have to postpone the game and embarrass the NFL powers that be into finally doing something about the joke that is their concussion policy?
And no tem whose fanbase throws batteries at Santa Claus deserves any kind of success, so can't root for the Eagles on account of the fanbase (I feel the same way about New England fans but as annoying as they can be they don't commit felony assault on a regular basis that I am aware of).
-M
PS since this thread will die and be clutter on the board just a day or two after the Superbowl, couldn't it have been a discussion within the all purpose sports thread we already have?

Personally, I think it's fine as it is. Super Bowl is enough of a big deal globally that a dedicated thread is OK. As for it eventually becoming clutter, that's true of lots of threads, but that's no reason not to start them. Proboards has plenty of space. One more thread isn't gonna make any difference.

Is there any fan base in sports that is not accused and/or convicted of being somewhere on the asshat spectrum, with one end being simply obnoxious and the other being sociopathic? I'm guessing maybe Padres fans? Both of them.

Since they're likely to play the game I'll root for a scoreless tie.

I always find it interesting how much hatred there is for the Patriots outside New England... I mean, I get wanted to see someone different, but the great efforts of ESPN and others to cast them as villains is crazy to me.
I mean, I grew up in the 80s.. I hated the Lakers with all my heart, but I never thought they cheated or anything, even when weird stuff happened. Maybe because my Celtics were a equal foil?
I suppose if you go back to the Yankees dynasties there was always talk about them rigging the league rules and using other teams as farm teams from guys like Bill Veeck, but that doesn't have nearly the juice of the various fake cheating stories the Patriots have out there.
