Sink for Painting ProjectsMy Dad is an avid painter and every 5-10 years he repairs cracked walls, re-smooth them, prime them for painting, and paint it in a day or two at his house to keep it in good shape and all that. He loved this sink -- pictured above to clean brushes, paint trays, and rollers to his job and that sink came in handy. He had that sink installed in his workshop area and I was surprised to see him installed it when I was around 7 at the time and I remember seeing it installed in the Spring of 1966 and that's when Batman Adam West Show came on. My eldest brother "DP" that we call him affectionately and he was 8 years older than me and he helped my Dad painting too and he was an excellent primer and does a good job doing so and loves to repair cracked walls and became so good at it -- My Dad didn't need to supervise him in these projects. When, we sold Dad's house -- that sink in his workshop area became a selling point to the new property owner and he's loves to Paint as well and had a smile on his face seeing it in my Dad's Workshop Area and looks exactly like the picture that I've found in the Internet. That's Sink was made at the time our World's Fair open during April of 1962 and my Dad brought that Sink in 1966 at a second-hand home improvement store that carry fairly new items at the time. I can't remember where he got it and neither my brothers including DP. I have 3 older brothers and no sisters ... so I'm the Kid in this family. I even repaired it a couple of times because the washer was worned out.

I'm fairly sure that my Dad and all my Uncles being chain smokers had more influence than candy cigarettes. But I suppose I could be wrong. I drank root beer as a kid and ended up an alcoholic! Funny enough I had more smokers in my family, but never really got hooked on smoking tobacco. I have a pipe, that my wife's grandmother gave me that was her oldest brother's when he passed away, because I had said I always wanted to try a pipe. When I worked a second night job, many years back one of the workers there smoked a pipe and it was always pleasant smelling. By the time I got the pipe I have and tried it, he had since passed away, so I never got to find out what specific tobacco he used. On the flip side, I virtually have no alcoholics in the family but one uncle (who was an addict in general) and my father with the occasional beer. I think I've seen my mother drink a handful of times in my adult life. And then look at me. So I dunno. Influences can have weird effects on people sometimes.

Polaroid One-Step Land Camera We had one of these cameras and only used it in the late 60's to mid 70's. The problems with this camera is that you can't make copies and quite limited for various uses. I felt that this camera will eventually will go away soon and my own Mother did not care for it at all. My older brothers (all three of them) loves it and they ended up using it a lot and my Father hates it and wanted to get rid of it as soon as possible. I never, really got the hang of this camera and most of all ... I just find one copy of the picture isn't good enough and the developer inside the picture is a major problem because of posting the picture on a corkboard or anything is not good at all. I just find it very difficult to do with it and it's quite limited for the amount of problems that this thing does. Anyway, it's a great camera for a teenager and that's pretty much sums up the limitations of it. Picture size is too small in my opinion and it's quite thick and the picture can get warped over time. After hanging onto to them for 10 years and we took about 200-350 pictures of various functions -- like birthdays, celebrations, Fourth of July, and Thanksgiving and Christmas too -- we decided to toss them out and kept 30-50 of them for just for memories only and one of my older brothers have them in an album not near a heat source and light. We look at them once in awhile for good ole time sake.

VHS TapesI brought a lot of these tapes at Walmart in the mid 80's to mid 90's and when DVD came it's kind got in a way and I felt that these things will eventually wears out and pretty much useless after rewatching the same movie that you like so well and the tape can get worn out. My last three VHS tapes were the original Star Wars tapes and my brother who is an VHS to DVD Expert just copied this film onto one DVD and I was happy that he's able to do so with no problems at all. I just watched them three months ago and everything was fine. I just feel so sad that these aren't much around my friends places and my library that I go to on a monthly basis don't accept VHS Tapes anymore and limits the amount of DVD's that people can donate -- they like the Blu-Ray only not the Standard DVD's. Anyway, they are truly a thing of the past.

Unfortunately, my wife got rid of all my other VHS tapes, but no great loss there, as long as I have the original Star Wars movies before Lucas started messing with them.

Vintage TuxedoThe only thing that wrong with this picture is that I wore a black tie instead this one here. Back in 1978 ... I was told by a dear friend of mine (a Gentleman in his early 40's) he wanted me to be one of his ushers in his wedding and he will pay for my tuxedo and my Senior Prom was a week after his wedding and I got permission from him to wear it for that event as well. Back in those days the Groom had great special deals and he paid $35.00 for renting this tuxedo for 10 days and I returned this tuxedo a day earlier and he and I had to be there so that everything was accounted for. He had a checklist of things that I took from the store and before we entered it ... he and I had lunch together to go over the stuff and everything was there for me to return it and everything was just perfect and the store gave him a $3.50 refund for returning it a day earlier and everything was in order. Then, 25 years later (he and his wife wanted to renew their vows and on their 25th anniversary ... I rented this tux similar to one in the photo below and this time ... I paid $55 for it for a week and it's my responsibility to make sure that everything back to them in proper order. They loved this color and wanted to have all the men in this ceremony to wear it and bridesmaids wore gowns exactly like the Cummberbunds pictured here with white gloves and flowers ... and of course shoes too The tuxes back then were too gaudy and I haven't worn one for more than 16 years and I hope that I've don't have to wear them again ... the reason why I hate tuxes ... too warm and I hate the materials that makes them and they make looks dorky!

Two Tone SunglassesIn the 70's to the 90's. M2 Vintage Brand Designer 3026 sunglasses with Ocean lens, Gradient Lens, Two-Tone Had a Pair just like them. These Sunglasses are so freaking cool and I had a pair just like the one that had the Blue and the Yellow on top right and they were popular in the South (California, Florida, and elsewhere including Hawaii) ... I got mine in a store in San Diego and had these for several years and by time nearing my 40's ... I had to give them up because it's started to look goofy and my girlfriend at the time really hates them Then, later on ... I got these Sunglasses -- not the right picture but 75% close to the style shown here. The ones that I got around 1999, when I was 40 years of age ... I got a pair of Sunglasses just similar to the ones on top. That's more acceptable to my girlfriend and she was more than pleased with it. Sunglasses back then were cooler than the ones of today.

High School Years 1975-78Two Tone Stockings worn by GirlsThese were popular around Christmas Time and most of them wore these pretty much the whole month of December ... During Proms, Spring Dances, and other formals -- we had four events -- Including Homecoming and some of the girls wore tights similar to this one pictured above -- in black and white. It was a rage back then and one of my memories of High School filled with young girls doing this and they often do this 1-2 days a week and then some. I was chuckling when in the 3rd week in my Sophomore Year -- my girlfriend wore a Red and Yellow combination on Monday -- like this one -- but the colors were reversed here and she wore this because she was a pro wrestling fan of which I was shocked to hear and the main reason for that -- Hulk Hogan will be appearing on TV that night. HULK HOGAN I was a pro wrestling fan myself -- but she was more so than I was and I did not know that until she told me so that day at School during our lunch hour together talking about it. Anyway, this is an unusual subject matter to talk about here in this thread -- but I wanted to do this because many girls loves doing this and my Sister-In-Law shared that too -- and did the same thing during her High School Year too. She only did the red and green for Christmas and that's the only thing that she did -- she was more conservatively dressed than most girls and her parents did not allow her to do these things. I was thinking of my High School today and some of the crazy things that GIRLS did in the late 70's!

Time Clocks - For PayFrom Amazon My favorite restaurant uses this Time Clocks for Paying their employees it's called the ... Acroprint 150RR4 Heavy Duty Automatic Time Recorder, prints Month, Date, Hour (0-23) and Hundredths Time ClockI'm very surprised to see this technology is still being used today and thought everything done by computers and all that ... but small businesses like restaurants and similar places still uses this technology to take care of this an new Acroprint 150RR4 cost $260.00 it's has these features listed by Amazon ... Automatic heavy duty time recorder. Prints month, date, hour (0-23), decimal hundredth. One-hand operation, made for rugged use and harsh environments Lifetime warranty on print wheel and 2-year warranty on all other parts Long-lasting inked ribbon with auto-reverse for continual printing Withstands thousands of print registrations per day The employee that I talked to while paying my bill told me that the owner got it on a business deal and paid -- $135.00 for it and couple dozens of boxes of these cards that came along with it -- that's looks similar to the cards (not exactly) shown below for another $5.00 to get them out of his hands. They still have 5 boxes left and that's should last until end of this year. After that, a box of these cards will cost $10.00 and they probably going to need 3 boxes for 2019. I used time clocks and punch cards from 1981 to 1989 - after that Computers took over and didn't have to deal with it anymore. I was stunned that this technology still in play.

Not a fan of the two-tone stockings. I like symmetry!
I love the retro baseball uniforms. Those Astros unis are so ugly, they're beautiful! the A's uniforms are among my favorites.
