Bonus for Today - Vintage Magazine Rack I got this from my Grandfather from my Mother side and had this from the moment that he died and kept it until last year when I was trying add more space to my Condo. I decided to keep this in the family and wanted to give it to my brother who has a much larger place and needs something to keep his Sport Illustrated, Time Magazines, and all the other magazines that he subscribes to. He likes the carrying handle so he can transport them to his office, bedroom, and family room so he can read his favorites. It's made in the early 40's (possibly late 30's) and still in good shape and all that. I had no need for it and I don't subscribe to Magazines and I keep my Comics in 2 Short Boxes now and all that. That Magazine Rack is useless for Comics Books and TPB's. Back to my Grandfather, he's keeps it near his favorite chair and occasionally when he gets sick he transport it to his bedroom when it's requires so. I remember seeing it in his bedroom a couple of times. And, back to my brother ... and he's loved it very much and puts in good use!

My mother had one of those. She had it by my father's favorite chair and it would have magazines, newspapers and church literature in it that they'd both read. In fact it was almost exactly like the one you pictured. Except I think the wood stain was more reddish.

Foods from the Past and some of them are still here Featuring Spam We usually have SPAM on Tuesday Nights -- because of all us was involved in Scouting and that's our weekly Scouting Night in our Family and my Mom served us SPAM fried meats and scalloped potatoes with Cheese and whatever she puts into it and we weren't fussy eaters at all. Then after dinner, my Mom while all my older brothers and my Dad at the Scout Meetings -- she take another can of SPAM fried that up and puts in the refrig and all of us have SPAM sandwiches for Lunch on Wednesday along with potato chips, pickles, and what nots. Anyway, it was very simple thing to cook and doesn't require a lot of preparation at all. My Dad loves SPAM and he has it a lot during the Korean War while Stationed at San Antonio Air Force Base as an instructor for Radar and Communications and had it every other nights with his buddies because he couldn't leave the base after 48 hours are over. When my Mom and I were in the late 70's and my Dad is often out of town -- My Mother and I usually have SPAM on occasions and it's usually any given night for fun!

More SPAM Ads  We made a lot of SPAM Sandwiches back in the 60's to the early 80's ... and stopped in 1981 when I graduated out of College. The most popular SPAM Sandwiches were made with Cheese. Sometimes we have it with EGGS for lunch and that's usually falls on a Saturday because my Dad loves it with EGGS back then.

We used to have a magazine rack, too.
I never ate much Spam, but apparently it's big in Hawaii. Speaking of throwback foods, now about Fluffernutter? At least, I think of that as a 70's food, but maybe I'm wrong.

Rain/Snow Boots Metal Clasps Black Hipster Fashion Dura-King I've mainly worn the bottom boots more than the top -- the Top Boots was worn by my Dad and two older brothers most of the time until they worn out. The bottom boots we had for the most part of the 60's and early 70's that all 5 guys had their own boots to wear in the rain/snow times and I often worn mine to school a lot and that's was the keeper. Anyway these boots were godsend and they really does their job and I just fooling around the internet and came across these two pictures and decided that my family -- especially my Dad and three older brothers all worn them back in those days and my Mom had one too -- that's in white and I couldn't find a picture of it. They were great to wear and provide years of service for our family until when I was in High School the last of these boots were worn by me and by time the year 1977 rolled along the boots were finally worn out and they provided our family of good long service of nearly 20 years of wear and tear. They don't make these anymore.

Retro Swimdress 40's Style  I wished these swimdresses in the 40's does make a comeback ... these were fashionable and as well as Sexy. Very Practical too ... you can dress for swim, have a picnic, dance, socialize, and do all these things without changing a thing!

Bowling Fun I used to belong in a bowling league from 1980 to 1991 and again from 1995 to 1999 for fun and exercise and during the 80's ... I've used to bowl a 120 to 140 on the average and my high game back in 1988 was 193 once and I couldn't believe it. I rolled 4 strikes in that time. Later on, in the 90's ... I've started to bowl 135-140 on a consistent basis and my best game was 215 of which again ... I rolled 5 strikes and then right now after nearly a twenty year hiatus -- I'll be joining a league that plays every Thursday Nights and it's co-ed age ranging from 55 to 75.  The league starts in June and I'm looking forward getting out of my place and meeting new people and socialize and I've already got my bowling ball picked out ... it's a Superman Bowling Ball!  Complete with it's own bag like this and I got it from eBay for an reasonable price.
