Anybody remember the Kenner SSP Smashup Derby? You pull a plastic line through the cars, which revs them um, so they can go smash into each other! I vaguely remember having these as a youngster. I definitely remember the commercials. And I seem to recall there may have been ads in funnybooks also. I don't think I ever saw one in the wild though.

I do seem to recall ads in the funnybooks, now that you mention it.

Zenith Flash Matic Gun - Remote Control for TelevisionMy family had one of these for 1 year and we ended up selling the TV Set because we did not care for it at the time it was introduced. Zenith FLASH-MATIC - World’s first wireless TV remote designed to look like a ray gun, 1965 The world’s first television remote control. The wireless “Flash-Matic” was invented by Zenith engineer Eugene Polley in 1955. It was neat concept back then that changed our lives forever!!!

I don't remember the Bionic Mission Vehicle at all, but it looks really cool. I wish you still had it too, Mechagodzilla! And I also had no idea about that Zenith remote from 1955. Amazing!

Six Million Dollar Man One of my favorite shows ...Lee Majors and John Saxon in Day of the Robot - The Six Million Dollar Man (1974) This show was explosive, the slow motion, the close ups, and everything else including the dramatics was nothing short of fantastic! It was a tough contest for the Six Million Dollar Man and everything about it was great including the acting itself. John Saxon as the Robot! Bunch of Great Pictures
Being checked on before being sent to battle with Colonel Steve Austin ... Complete Show from Dailymotion here.

A few months ago I watched the Six Million Dollar Man vs. Bigfoot clip on Youtube. Awesome stuff! I remember running in slow motion and going "da-na-na-na-na" as a kid.

EVERYONE was going da-na-na-na-na runs, kicks, punches and bionic eye bo-doo-doo-doo-doop! Even my uncle's would goof around at family holiday celebrations doing stuff like cooking in slow motion or drinking in slow motion. Six Million Dollar Man and bionic Woman are the easiest "superhero" to imitate ever!

I remember pretty much every kid in the school playground doing that. And man, I've gotta watch the Bigfoot episode again. I remember that one actually scaring the hell out of me when it first aired.
