I would say B+ as well.
Didn't like Gordon offering his badge to Bruce.
The alley scene should've been darker, more noir.
Re multiple villains : they're characters at this point, not Bat-villains, and thus, we see they're development as well paralleling the same time frame as young Bruce. I'm good with it. Multiple hooks, as it were.
I think this show is going to do very well, and eventually get more Gotham Central-y too.

I thought it was pretty good, a heard a lot of people talking about rolling their eyes over young ivy and catwoman but honestly it doesn't bother me at all.

Excellent Observations here and thanks for pointing it out.

Didn't like the second episode as much as the pilot. I felt it highlighted a lot of the shows flaws; bad dialogue and overly dramatic acting in some scenes. I like the more campy fun versions of Batman and I feel The Dollmaker's underlings (Lili Taylor and Frank Whaley) gave off that vibe. I like Sean Pertwee but I'm not really feelin' him as Alfred. Robin Lord Taylor is pretty good as The Penguin though. I kind of like that teenage Bruce was listening to heavy metal and drawing.

Yeah, Penguin is surprisingly good. I like the origin of his name.

Good point on the Multiple Villains - they are Characters - Not Bat-Villains! Outside of Penguin and Selena, I'd say they're currently more caricatures than characters...

1st episode I'd rate C+-B? 2nd episode was D-. Simply AWFUL. Only saving grace is the talent of the actors playing bullock and Alfred and to a slightly lessor extent Gordon. They're soo much better than this show. Everything and everyone else from this ep was outright laughable IMO. I was in complete disbelief over how bad this was.

Maybe I haven't read enough Batman comics in the last decade but I'm really enjoying the show so far and this comes from someone who had read quite a few of the pre-show news articles and thought it was going to be a total flop. It certainly isn't much of a Batman show but it is a great Gotham P.D. show.

As with all media adaptations, I am taking the show for what it is and not for what it isn't in comparison to this comic or that movie, and as a standalone story with it's own take on the Bat-mythos, it has been enjoyable so far. Is it different than Batman comics? Yep. But Batman comics are different from other Batman comics too, that's what happens when you have 75 years of character and story development to draw from. The danger I see in the show is that they try to put too much in there too soon, trying to cram too much of the 75 years of development into to small space. They need to give the characters hey choose to use room to breathe and develop. The first episode was solid, the second, not quite as good, but had some enjoyable moments in it We'll see where it goes as the season progresses, as a lot of new shows, in particular genre shows, usually take about a half season to discover what they are and get their feet under them before they get really good (or really bad and get written off by me). I think it's off to a good start, but we really won't know what the show is until after November sweeps when thye break out the bigger story guns to see what they actually have.

"The Balloonman" was not as bad as the last episode. I actually liked the swashbuckling scene with Alfred and Bruce. Nice to see David Zayas from Dexter show up. I hope he's a series regular. Dan Bakkedahl who played Balloonman was pretty funny in Legit on FX. The Penguin scenes continue to be good and I wasn't expecting that ending!

"Arkham" The scene showing the Arkham Asylum gate looked great. The villain of the week had an interesting weapon. Jada Pinkett Smith making out with that girl was pretty cool as was the cat fight. Other than that I didn't think this episode was particularly interesting.
