I'm down for this, I'd like to do a new Sandman as a son of Wesley Dodds and Dian Belmont. His name is Lawrence Dodds(after Dian's father) and perhaps he is spit into the future by the Dreaming to become the new Sandman. Our first new CCF member! Sandman is all yours. You're new to TOJ so I'll give you a little more info. Now that you've nailed down your character, I'll come up with a design for him(in micro form like Power Guy above). Can you give me some more details about the new Sandman? Will he just have his dad's weapons or will he have powers? I will send you my design for your approval once I'm done with it. It may take a few weeks so don't think I forgot about you.

I'm not sure I exactly understand what y'all do with this, but I'm intrigued...Perhaps once y'all get going I'll jump in Hi! There is going to be an ongoing fanfiction which will most likely be called "Titans of Justice." The Titans of Justice is a super-team much like the Teen Titans or the Justice League. The members are the sons, daughters, and legacy characters of DC Comics characters, but they are based on US (post-ers on these boards).
My character is Green Lantern Daniel Jordan, the son of Hal Jordan and Carol Ferris. He looks something like this:
He might have a different costume once the fanfic starts though.
If you are at all interested in BEING a super-hero in a fanfiction, pick out who's son you would like to be, choose your name and let Dr. Poison know. You could be a founding member of the all-new Titans of Justice! (Yes, I am aware of how geeky that sounded. )

I was thinking similar to Wesley's abilities from Sandman Mystery Theater, the gas gun and mask plus hazy visions from the dreaming that contain ambiguous clues to what ever case he's on. Personality wise I'd say he was like a Sam Spade or Philip Marlowe, a hard drinking PI. I've never participated in a group fan-fic before so it may take me a bit to get into the swing of it but I'm pretty excited.

There isn't any work that is mandatory besides helping create your character. From there, you can just read and comment on the stories as they're posted or if you have an idea for a story you'd like to write, you can pitch it to me for approval. I have the final say as I'm our resident continuity monitor plus I usually have an idea of what's coming down the pike story-wise. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Okay, I think I'd like to play.
Do these have to be actual offspring, or can mantles be passed to others?
I wrote a story a long time ago in which the mantle of The Spectre got passed to a Catholic Priest who was beginning to doubt while questioning the true nature of good and evil. He'd view the mantle of the Spectre as both exacerbating the question and also providing hints as to an answer. And, unlike the Corrigan Spectre, he would use his powers sparingly, perhaps even saying the Hail Mary while using them reluctantly in order to thwart evil, viewing each confrontation as an opportunity to understand evil (and, by extension, good).
Too heavy? Too off-track?
I never gave him a name. I'm not picky. How about Father Sean McCallister?
Appearance wise, Spectre face and cloak over a priest's collar and black tunic.

It's definitely not too heavy or off-track but I have to be honest and say that I would struggle to find regular threats to challenge a character with this kind of power. The Spectre has taken on the Anti-Monitor, Parallax, and several other entity-level beings. Even the the entire Legion of Doom wouldn't have a chance against him. Do you have a 2nd choice by chance?

Well, we could make him extremely reluctant to use his powers, as well as somewhat untrained and inconsistent when using them. Barring that, give me some time to think. I'll come up with something else.

I hate to be a downer but at the same time, I'm trying to be upfront with you.

Okay, how about this: Firestorm: Danna Raymond (daughter of Ronnie Raymond) merged with a now aging Professor Stein? Edit: Actually, Firestorm might be too powerful, too. I am NOT good at this

Okay, how about this: Firestorm: Danna Raymond (daughter of Ronnie Raymond) merged with a now aging Professor Stein? Edit: Actually, Firestorm might be too powerful, too. I am NOT good at this Try a non-powered character. I'm trying to think of characters I find interesting; not really approaching it from a powers perspective. Robin is an easy choice, but it's too loaded a character for my tastes. So much has been done with Dick Grayson over the years that there doesn't seem to be a lot of room to play with his legacy as a result. That's why I've tried to go with interesting characters who don't get used that often.
