Great to see some Canadian pop music get a mention! April Wine were one of the few big mainland Canadian acts to play in Nfld, so I have very positive feelings towards them, even apart from liking their music - which I do
I could be remembering wrong but I think Doug And The Slugs played Gander or some kind of CFB/AFB over there. They had a lot of good stuff too... Making It Work, Chinatown Calculation, Who Knows How To Make Love Stay, Drifting Away, Partly From Pressure, AllrightMedley. Doug was a cartoonist, worked on the same semi-underground paper (now straight) as Boomtown Rats' Bob Geldhof (when he was over here). I like all of Canada, great music made from Coast To Coast... from The Great Scots to The Nocturnals!

My wife is watching the Play on Special on CBS she recorded last week, and I was looking forward to seeing Gary Clark Jr. perform, so am listening as I do some stuff on the computer. Here was Gary's performance of Feed the Babies from the special, well worth the wait...

People like to crap on 'greatest hits' or 'compilations', but they really are a wellspring for helping to rope in people to a 'new to them' artist or group
Also re-discovered some New Order songs that I liked that I never knew the names for. I could listen to New Order all day, every day and be happy. Their songs just have this dreamy, almost effervescent, quality to them
