Well, not right now, but earlier today, while I was doing yard work - so much yard work...
(That's the title track to the album I had going...)

Yeah, "Invasion" is a good track, too. That live version rocks, but the pared-down studio version isn't bad, either:
Otherwise, even though it's from their third album (Sonic Bullets), for some reason this one sticks in my head as their signature song:

I've willfully avoided giving Randy Newman a close listen for decades. "Short People" was a radio irritant when it was a hit and I was never impressed by the songs he'd perform at the Oscars (which he seemed to do for about 30 years straight). But a recent purchase of Nilsson Sings Newman led me to Sail Away. And while I'd prefer to hear Harry Nilsson sing all of Newman's songs, I'm enjoying this record.

I started with something a little more "civilized" above, as I enjoy a lot of different kinds of music. But now time to show my true colors as a hard rock guitar player largely influenced by this gentleman who left us all too soon. I've been listening to (and watching) this old footage...when Van Halen took the stage, figuratively and literally, and set the rock world afire.

Interesting... and here I thought that underground comix collectors only listened to Grateful Dead, Zappa, Blue Cheer and Quicksilver Messenger Service...

This song never fails to make me smile. Written by Steve Goodman and John Prine. Goodman was a terrific songwriter, gone too soon.
