Mickey 3D.
I love what Mikael Furnon does, either with his band or solo. And unlike what happens with many other artists, I never get tired of his work.

My apparently fated-to-be-lifelong attempt to remedy the scratch on Wire's Send bonus disc so that I can at least burn a good copy of the 6th track, "Artificial Gravity," continues apace. Toothpaste, I regret to report, seems to have made things worse. I guess peanut butter is next, but under the circumstances I'm not overly hopeful. Just sent out a cry for help to my piracy-minded friend in Tennessee, since I can't seem to find any legit sources (pay or otherwise) for downloads from or of the disc.
The older specimens among us might well recall all the breathless promises & predictions back in the mid-'80s or thereabouts about how CDs were going to be just about indestructible.
Ha ha!

My friend tried the toothpaste method and he rubbed it in (I mean he really rubbed it in) so much that once he was done with all the rubbing, the disc was scratched beyond belief. Then he sanitized the toilet bowl, dropped the disc in and flushed it few times. Took the disc out (with gloves, rubber ones mind you, not the white ones and gently tapped the surface dry and clean, to leave thin layer of toothpaste residue on. Afterwards the disc played without a problem. Personally, I feel like dropping lots of CD's in the toilet without bothering to fish them out, but Man, all that scratched surface really turned my stomach.

Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster's debut album, Horse of the Dog. Had to pluck it off my CD shelves after a couple of listens last night this morning to their follow-up, The Royal Society, just obtained via eBay.

Maybe I'll mail this disc to your friend for that treatment ... because there's no way I'm doing it myself.

In the last day i've listened to Aimee Mann's Bachelor #2 (excellent) and, on the nostalgic side of the street, the best of Spooky Tooth. Hevy Music before Heavy Metal was born. They might have influenced Black Sabbath for all I but I certainly can see the connection. Spooky Tooth's 2nd. album is a 60's classic and contains Evil Woman amongst others. Judas Priest also covered their song "Bettter By You,Better By Me"

Et qu'un ange passe Entre son regard et ton coeur Comme un cadeau du ciel Que ses mains te fasser Oublier le doute et la peur Un instant d'amour est un instant de vie
