Back from Butte. Unfortunately I have a huge day in Court today. Will post about the trip either here or in the History thread as it was a very history intensive trip. But...here's a pic of my boys and I relaxing after some site-seeing. And up in the snow on the way home.

1995(?)Six Flags Over Texas-Was my first time being completely outside of my then home state of Louisiana and flying by plane to get there. Was maybe about five/six-ish? Mom and me went to go visit Bill, a guy my mom had worked with and later fell in love and got married to, and we went to Six Flags. Unfortunately I was too little at the time to go on any of the rides and the main one that I wanted to go on was the Batman Forever river ride, was closed. Mostly just remember walking through Toon Town and getting to meet all these people in Loony Tunes outfits, namely Willie E. Coyote. Remember taking home a little journal that I showed off for my class about what I did during my summer vacation 2000(?)Waterville, USA- When I was around maybe ten, my mom took me and my cousin Aaron over to Waterville, USA, this huge water park/resort. It was maybe about an hour's ride over there and back, but it felt way, way longer. For lunch we stopped at Lambert's, this kind of kitschy restaurant that was maybe 30 minutes away from Waterville. This was back before Cracker Barrel got really popular, so it kind of made Lambert's a special occasion. Their main claim to fame were these huge dinner rolls that they would throw to costumers like you were at a baseball game Various Eras The Track- What can I say about this place? It was wonderful and it makes me incredibly happy that it's still around. With two go-kart tracks, various other outdoor amusements, and this huge indoor arcade, it was a beautiful mirage in an otherwise barren, grass filled landscape that was Gulf Shores, Alabama We went there a couple of times as a kind of field trip back when I went to Living Word, this non-denominational private school. Was really, really fun. Biggest memory is one of the students, who was a bit of a trouble maker, opening up the ticket box in a ski-ball machine and just carrying the whole damn wad over to the prize booth. None of them who worked it said a word or cared

Next vacation is Virginia Beach with my wife, my oldest daughter and her husband, and my youngest daughter and her fiancé. That happens the first week in Sept. Then my youngest daughter's wedding mid Oct. And a final vacation for 2018 in mid Dec in Colonial Williamsburg for Christmas. It has become a family tradition to spend a long weekend in mid Dec in a quaint town to see it decorated for Christmas.

Colonial Williamsburg is a fabulous place to visit -- I was there in 1976 and 1992 and thinking going back there in a year or two. It will be a treat to see it decorated for Christmas ...

Are you flying there or driving? Driving. It is a 6 hr drive for us. If you're taking US 58, pull off the road in Clarksville, VA. One of the first things you'll see is a CVS store. Go in and ask for Tom. He's a supervisor there, and he's my brother.
