foxley, did you ever read Ironwood ? I'd heard of it but had never read it. I've read it. It's early Bill Willingham, with him both doing both the writing and the art. It's an 'adult' (i.e. sexually explicit) fantasy tale, so it is not for the easily offended. However, it is also a very good fantasy story that stands on its own without the sex scenes. In interview, Willingham has said that, at times, it was difficult to insert each issue's obligatory sex scene with breaking the flow of the story.
However, at lot of fans (myself included), felt let down by the ending, which seemed unnecessarily dark and mean-spirited. But overall it is 10 good issues and one where YMMV.
