Hey. I saw this film yesterday. I thought it was decent. On first viewing it did feel largely the same, but I still liked it. I get the feeling that Infinity War was so epic and grand, that this film following it had an impossible task to try and match it's scale. It doesn't do that, but for what it is it's worth at least seeing once. I think the cast does a great job especially. Lawrence Fishbourne was a great addition, even with limited screen time. The villain or "villains" don't really put up a shine like a lot of the Marvel films, and at the end of the day I found one faction to be pretty much superfluous to the main plot itself. They never really felt like they were in mortal danger, but to be fair this movie is more of the "heist" or "race for the artifact" type of joint just like the first one was. Also, the action sequences don't really bring much new to the table (at least for the heroes) that hasn't already been seen in the first film and then Civil War. Now you just have two people that can utilize shrinking tech. Although, I guess there is only so much you can do with that dynamic. It does make for some new comedic moments though. Even with some of the drawbacks, it's Marvel. At worst their movies have been decent, and none terrible. At least not for me. There are two scenes when the credits start rolling. The first one is the mid credits scene, and something you definitely want to stick around for. The second one can be skipped honestly. Just a cute way to end that film, but you're not really missing much.

I quite liked this one. The first one was a standard origin film and, as has often been noted, a retread of the first Iron Man film. There was no question in it that the industrialist partner was going to be the bad guy, and he's caught in the act of being nasty in his second scene. The first one depended heavily upon humor from Paul Rudd and Michael Cena. This one was less predictable in the first half. The villain reveal relieved me, inasmuch as I had a fear that they would make it {Spoiler: Click to show} Janet Van Dyne returned from the microverse , but it wasn't. So yay! They found all sorts of fun things to do with growing and shrinking, and the audience responded well. My teen son was grinning pretty much nonstop. It also had a nice "redeemable villain" and "unredeemable villain" characterization.

I'm having trouble getting over my annoyance that they didn't use one of the three perfectly good characters that exist in the Marvel Universe for the Wasp, and instead had to make their own. I try not to be that guy, but sometimes it comes out.

I saw the matinee today and I was surprised how subtly funny it was and has it's moments and its was a pretty darn good movie to see. Many scenes in that movie was excellent and the acting was fairly good; and with these two in hand -- I think they should make an Avenger Movie adding these two (I hope so) characters in.
It's a perfect for the family to watch and the adults will get a kick out of it.
I think this film deserved a solid B Grade and the costumes weren't all that bad. I don't mind seeing it again.

The wife and I saw it yesterday, for our anniversary. (Well, we also did dinner.) It was okay, a fun movie. Not as 'heavy' as the Cap movies, not as much fun as the Guardians movies. But it was entertaining enough.
There were problems with the science (how does that energy extraction thing work again, and how did they come up with it when they didn't even know if Janet was still alive?). And as PapaShogun said, one faction was kinda unnecessary, though we got a fun chase scene out of them. And yeah, that second post-credit scene was a waste, hammering home a gag that wasn't that funny the first time around.
Overall, while it's not one of the best Marvel movies, we still enjoyed it. And let's face it, I'm still gobsmacked that we're actually had not just one, but two good Ant-Man movies. Who saw that coming?

Just wanted to add that I thought the scenes with Scott's daughter were good and sometimes charming, especially the one where they talk about his getting a partner. Evangeline Lilly made for a competent and appealing Wasp. The family dynamics, Scott and his daughter, Hank and Hope looking for Janet, heck, even the relationship between Ghost and her mentor, gave the film a more down-to-earth vibe suited for less powerful heroes. Who really wants to see Ant-Man versus Thanos, anyway. And it's always good to see Judy Greer (Scott's ex), even if she didn't get to do much. (She played Dr. Slutbunny on Big Bang Theory, and does the voice of Cheryl/Carol/Cherlene/whoever on Archer.)

I try not to be that guy, but sometimes it comes out. What do you mean? If there's going to be a Wasp movie, I want it to be one of the many characters from the comis.. it could be Nadia.. it could be Janet (I guess she's in the movie, too, and that kinda makes sense, but still..), or it could be Cassie (who would be my preference), but why make a new one? It just annoyed me.. especially since Nadia is essentially the same character, only Russian, at least origin wise.

Really enjoyed this one. After Infinity War a smaller, intimate, family movie that is fun(ny), smart and heartwarming was the perfect way to go. It shows the MU movies are home to any type of story and heroes/villains imaginable and proves there can be good movies made with lesser characters. While this is NOT the comic book versions I do believe the characters and movies feel like a comic book brought to life and the writers have taken time to make their own world for the characters to inhabit and play in. And the drumming ending might have been fun if it wasn't already shown earlier in the movie itself and in all of the commercials. The action/fights of shrinking/enlarging was done very creatively and entertained well.
Rudd makes a great Lang and his interactions with Hank and Hope are funny. Bill Foster to play off of Hank adds another great situation to play off of as you can tell they do actually care about each other and can only express their feelings in the old ways of sarcasm and arguments and put downs which was the norm for guys in the old days until the advent of the bro-mance and embracing our feelings. Really glad to have 2 Ant-Man movies to enjoy watching.

And now I have a mental image of Scott Lang's wife breaking up with him.
'Say goodbye to these, little man!'

Just saw it and really enjoyed it. A fun light hearted movie. The audience was into it laughing and clapping. A lot of families. Loved the addition of Bill Foster. Love Pena's performance while under the influence of the "truth serum".
