All-Star Squadron #49 - I was growing disenchanted with this series...I didn't care for the artwork at all, and the stories seemed to be running out of steam as well. And before long, the effects of Crisis would completely gut it. Ambush Bug #4 American Flagg #25 Avengers #259 Aztec Ace #14 - I remember thinking this issue seemed a bit "dumbed down" from previous ones, less stylized and more straightforward. I wondered if they were trying to make the series more accessible to boost sales. If so, it didn't work... Batman #387 Blue Devil #16 Cerebus #75 Coyote #13 Crisis on Infinite Earths #6 DC Comics Presents #85 - Alan Moore's all over the place this month, and knocking them all out of the park. Deadman #5 Detective Comics #554 Elementals #4 Elric:Sailor on the Seas of Fate #3 Epic Illustrated #31 Foozle #3 - This was based on an unused Superman-Creeper team-up that Englehart wrote. Which adds an extra layer of surrealism to the story, especially since the Superman analogue is a little girl riding around on a flying mattress... Power Pack #14 Sabre #14 Squadron Supreme #2 Super Powers #1 - Not a great comic by any stretch, but still pretty fun. The closest we ever got to a Kirby JLA. Superman #411 Superman Annual #11 Swamp Thing #40 Thor #359 Who's Who #7

What an awesome thread! And that newsstand website rocks. I'm not as organized as I should be , but looking through the releases it looks like I probably currently own about 50 of them, probably purchasing 35-40 of them that month.

Bought out of inertia or stupid loyalty: All-Star Squadron Batman Detective
Bought because you just had to even if the whole damned "event" was unnecessary: Crisis
Bought because they were decent, thought-provoking and/or even fun to read: DC Presents with Superman and Swamp Thing (Alan Moore to the rescue!) Deadman reprints (Despite the garish coloring) Suprman Annual (Moore and Gibbons strike again!) Swamp Thing (a monthly about the monthlies) Thor (Simonson) Who's Who (Hours of nerdy fun!)

G.I. Joe 38: Storm Shadow Rescues Billy from a Cobra Jail facing off against Destro in the Process. (I was a huge fan of G.I. Joe (both the comic and the Sunbow cartoon) Transformers 7: I really don't recall this issue's details as clearly but I definitely remember the cover as it had Ratchet on the cover (at that point Rachet was the only Transformer figure i owned) V: the Series 7: I was a huge fan of the TV Series and as I recall this episode focused on the Julie Parish character (played by Faye Grant) I think it started with a nightmare of her being in the Visitors "conversion booth"
These were the early days of my comic collecting I wouldn't become a full-time Comic book addict until after the death of Robin.
