There was an earlier (1970) version of The Dunwich Horror that I saw in the theater when I was 12. It starred Dean Stockwell and Sandra Dee. I remember thinking at the time it was pretty scary but I suspect it would be unbearably cheesy by today's standards. Cei-U! I summon the 48-year-old memory! 12 is a great age to watch scary movies! I remember how scared I had been by Quatermass and the pit when I was that age. (But then I was also scared by things like the U.F.O. tv show... the weird eyes of the aliens sent me hiding behind the couch!) Oh, and for Lovecraft fans who haven’t seen it yet... I think this fake newsreel is just perfect!!!

I've seen From Beyond and Re-Animator - what's the third one? Bride of Re-Animator was the first sequel. Beyond Re-Animator came after.

Another question for everyone and anyone, if this is the right thread for it: what are the best horror films of the 30s and 80s? I'm reading some stuff from those decades and might try to watch a film from around the same time while I'm at it.
