Just announced, there will be no season 4 of Daredevil, officially cancelled after season 3. Jessica Jones and Punisher haven't officially been cancelled, but it looks like Marvel at Netflix is done. -M

Yep Looks like Punisher Season 2 and Jessica Jones Season 3 will be the last of the shows. At this point the only reason why they probably haven't announced those cancellations is because they've already completed filming their latest seasons, and there's no point in announcing a cancellation when you still have a whole season to air. I feel like people are reading a bit too much into the part of the Netflix statement about how Daredevil still has a future at Marvel. Of course it does. You could say that about practically any Marvel character that's carried a film or TV show. There's no way Marvel's going to let properties just lie fallow and not exploit their character IP, especially one that has worked as well as DD. It's an inevitability that DD will be in some new show or movie sometime in the future. The bigger question is whether it will be a reboot or a continuation of the current version.

Very disappointing news. At least it went out on a high note.
True, true. It’s always better when a great show ends at its peak with fans mourning its passing than when it becomes increasingly irrelevant. Still... like Oliver Twist, I wanted more!

Finally finished Season 3. Wow, that was exhausting! It's not as emotionally ambitious as Jessica Jones, but it was still great. Particularly:
1) It did a terrific job lifting various elements from the the comics and making them sense within the context of the series. Even junkie Karen made sense, surprisingly. Lots of little visual things too, like the "Bullseye" logo on young Pointdexter's baseball cap, or Matt wearing white hand wraps instead of a cast.
2) It's incredibly rare for a drama like this to take religion seriously. Daredevil is a natural fit to try it, and amazingly, they didn't whiff the opportunity. The religious discussions were sincere but not trite as Matt struggled to reconcile his horrible experiences with his beliefs over the course of the season.
3) That prison fight scene. Wow. I doubt it was really all one take, but seamless editing made it seem that way. What a directorial/choreographic tour de force, and some of the stunts were clearly Charlie Cox himself. This is what Iron Fist should have been.
4) Kingpin! Rarely does a villain get this well developed. So many good moments, like the scene with the Holocaust survivor about the painting. I'm not so sure about making Vanessa so evil, though. We didn't get to see her enough to buy into the ruthlessness she displayed.
5) Bullseye. Again, so much better than the Colin Farrell version. I was impressed that they gave a full episode over to his origin, and another full episode to young Karen also. Good choice; Jessica Jones did something similar with the two Patsy Walker spotlight episodes in season 3.
I would be delighted to see this cast continue the story in some form, whether on the big screen or small. It will probably be tough to re-assemble them once the contracts expire, though. Pity. Charlie Cox is on Broadway now.
